That was Spurs, no? For what it's worth, Chelsea are about the only big club who do right by us. We actually receive players in from them. All good ones too.
True they don't exist, unless you already play for a top club then you can be called super loyal and one club man ( see Neville, Terry and Gerrard). Players are only interested in their careers and money so if the opportunity to better both comes along then they would be obviously keen to do so
Just for logic sake when Saints get these players to sign 6 year contracts why don't the player tell the club if a cl club comes in for them they would like to talk to them if the price suits,it would save the player having a meltdown, because lets face it VVD has had his head changed by Liverpool,he's now not at all committed to Saints and he ain't never going to fulfill the contract he happily signed only last year. He's going to move,if we get another year out of him I'll be shocked. We go through this every season, player wants to go,club says no,club accepts figure, player moves. Lots and lots of bullshit later, player gets what he wants, club gets lots and lots of money, then declares they couldn't turn down that amount, but we're not a selling club. Who do we think it will be next season,my money is on Romeo?
Who do you think will sign Van Dijk this summer then? Liverpool are out and Man city are refusing to pay anything like what Liverpool would have paid so we won't sell to them.
Tbh mate I'm not too sure who will sign him but I'm be shocked if this saga has ended any time soon. I would imagine VVD isn't a happy bunny at the moment, will he be a disruptive so n so I don't know?
I don't think Scousehampton are out of the frame at all. If he doesn't get snapped up quickly by Chelsea or City I can see The Scouse Scum ringing Les and asking for permission to talk & start negotiating the £70m fee
This is a twitter conspiracy theory about a guy who has always acted with the utmost professionalism If he has a public hissy fit like Morgan I won't be questioning its truth
Do you know he has been professional his whole career? If not then you can't really say it. It's pretty obvious he is in a strop
Don't think Liverpool will be interested anymore. They will seek to buy another CB at half the price and then convince themselves that they came out best. As they may for all we know.
Teams are more pragmatic than fans. They would be perfectly happy to sign VVD as he has no deep emotional tie to Liverpool....he would still do his best for any team. Why wouldn't he? If he was for sale of course.
