That statement sums Liverpool up to a tee, How embarrassing it was for them to apologise to Southampon.
I'd like to apologise on behalf of Liverpool Football Club and... Blah, blah, blah. Let's call it like it is here, we've ****ed up big time and have had to go crawling to Southampton so that they don't tell on us and get us a transfer ban. We all know how it pans out when we play our U16's in the cups and we don't want to do that again, so sorry, sorry bout that, we apologise and we won't bother you again. VVD had now become a bang average defender according to social media, not many on our board talking such ****e I'm glad to say. Michael Edwards a man in his first year in the job is the fella in charge of this, Klopp should also be asking questions before speaking to or meeting a player but it's Edward who would be giving him that nod. It's simply embarrassing for the club in that we're making an illegal approach for a player, can we not just do it officially and get into a dialogue with the club? Heads should roll for this. We've missed out on a top class defender due to the incompetence of the people responsible for bringing players to the club. Some on social media are saying VVD will put in a request now and we'll get him anyway. Southampton don't have to sell they are loaded, we've made sure of that and along with the new TV money they hold all the cards. If they sell it will be for a crazy amount of money and we simply will not be bidding that much. Hopefully our transfer people will make up for this huge cock up quickly and bring in a very good defender after following the correct process.
Hyypia was better than Carra, Carra was good for longer and just put his heart and soul into it which is what every fan wants but Hyypia was the real class in that duo.
Given you've only recently been ****ed by the FA for tapping up of youth players, that statement smacks of a club ****ting themselves that they might invoke a full transfer ban. I'd ****ing piss myself if this left the door open for Koeman to grab him
I agree on the first part, but for Koeman to grab who? VVD? Do you think you'd spend that much on 1 player?
Yes, we bid £60m for Koubailly last summer. I'm sure Koeman would want the player, whether he'd come is another matter
Pretty much exactly my thoughts. Big error, but we move on. I would have had him for 50-55mil, but they went up to 75mil if reports are to believed. Southampton now have an unhappy player and potentially won't have a bidding war like they originally wanted. Both clubs lose out in that respect. I think we all know that 'tapping up' is very, very common. We were just the ones to get caught this time!
Absolute gold comment on the Liverpool board portraying them as the winners in this deal and not red faced, grovelling apologists. "Let's be clear, the last thing Southampton wanted was an apology They wanted an extra £25m, not for us to walk away They got schooled"
How dare we not roll over and let them do what they like?! I'm still pissing myself over that apology
I wonder if Van Dijk is sat on his lilo in Benidorm crying about all of those 6 yard passes he won't receive off Jordan Henderson now.
I saw it was Astro, but to be honest, I would have been able to guess 100% lol That guy really lives on another planet, bless him.
