Perhaps the board should have taken the good old fashioned route of givIng Claude the vote of confidence before sacking him. Everyone feels a lot happier with a lie
http://readsouthampton.com/2017/06/07/saint-etienne-reportedly-ready-pay-compensation-puel/ St Etienne reportedly ready to pay Puel's compensation for leaving Saints....perhaps that job isn't quite dead.
It was the accusation that Les/Ralph were treating him shabbily I found issue with. Some of the fans have treated him shabbily certainly. I agree trying to bin him and then keeping him would be a very bad idea but we don't know exactly where either the board or CP stand at present do we. I also don't know where he stands with the squad as I would expect the players who aren't starting to be a bit off at times, happens with all teams. I agree with your point, but I've not seen the evidence that the club aren't treating him ok, just some fans and maybe some players ... oh and the media who have had him sacked for a while, but thats just normal service for the media and us
Looking and sounding right does help and is one of CPs challenges ... ... but doesn't Schmidt look a bit creepy
Agreed. I was content with it if we had made a decision and were simply allowing Claude to sew up a new club to avoid a more acrimonious parting of ways, but leaving him hanging like this is a bad look. He cannot return now...that would be utterly untenable after openly courting replacements and telegraphing that he's only still here because we have not found one yet.
JWP has said it is all up to the club, but Puel was very good to him and by playing him has helped him to get the captaincy in the U21s. He said Puel was a passionate manager....I know he had said before that Claude was a fun manager....which shows you can't always judge things from the outside.
The mouth piece has spoken. Saints look to Germany? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...aces-sack-southampton-have-found-replacement/
