    It does.

But you think most people would want to rally behind spending taxes on improving the country for everyone.

    Well, you would think so.

I would say that this election shows that she doesn't like to be questioned and is not prepared to defend her positions. I would say that the Labour Party under Corbyn have got the better of her when it mattered, that is when they make an announcement and within days change their position. Question Time always was a public school farce, more pantomime than serious politics. The fact its no longer worthy of a regular slot on the 6 O'clock news shows the power Corbyn has. He made it boring.

I would say he speaks for millions of people, maybe not enough to give Labour a majority tomorrow, but millions. He speaks to all those that want a decent education, an NHS that hits its targets, respect and help in old age and a society were the rich and powerful give their fair share back to society.

He seems ill-prepared and chaotic but his campaign has got stronger. She seems strong and stable but her campaign has got weaker. It seems all that glitters isn't gold.

We get just over 50% electoral turnout in Hull in general elections.
It's hardly a political hotbed is it? It's a rock solid old Labour stronghold with virtually no Con or Lib credibility locally.
The choice for most people is Labour or stay at home.
(I have no stats to back this up, it's anecdotal experience. )

You'd need to get agreement and definition on what and where the 'improvements' are.

I'm not going to blindly vote for a party that's been destroyed, initially as a bit of a joke but one that turned bad really quickly.

Principles is about doing what you think is right, not blindly doing the same thing without thinking.

Potentially the professional protester could feasibly destroy the Labour Party as a force for years.

    Make you happy does it?

The claim that she doesn't debate isn't strictly accurate. It's more correct to say that she doesn't see public debates with politicians as meaningful or productive, instead choosing to answer questions from the electorate.

Having seen some of the politicians point scoring off each other, she has a point.

There are people like spook and PLT who are easily influenced and love buying in to this extreme sort of bollocks.

It's eerily similar to jihadism, on the complete opposite side of the spectrum.

It should not be shared or encouraged.

    True.

But I'd have thought raising children from poverty, investing in education (and the pupil premium for arts), closing the gap on inequality etc etc would appeal to anyone.

But as we've seen from some, they just care about the money in their back pocket more than a better society.

You put your own earnings (even though you claim to be in a high earning bracket) above helping this nation become more equal.

    Make you happy does it?

Dunno what you're crying about if you don't make enough to pay the 40% bracket.

One thing that is rather sad is the way this country has moved slowly away from caring about fellow workers in favour of self interest.

Lab/Con- both shafted the electorate re the EU.
Blair and co enthusiastically opened the floodgates to hundreds of thousands of hungry Eastern European workers.

    Thanks for that.
Ironic isn't it that a big Remoaner **** like Blair is one of the main culprits for people voting Leave?
But then a bright lad like you knew that already eh?

    Thatcherism for you mate.

Look at some of those who on here who reckon they were staunch Labour, yet quibble about paying a few quid more for the common good.

They'd rather kids be in poverty, schools and the NHS failing - and have a few extra quid in their bank.

Some people like to benefit personally from their own hard work and sacrifices.

Some people expect to have everything handed to them on a plate.

At both ends of the spectrum.

Yes I believe those that need help should get it. But only those that truly need it.

Life really isn't as simple as you seem to believe. Reality sucks much more.
