No but we don't have a manager or any coaches at present. And we still have one of the Chuckle brothers in charge of negotiations
Maybe we need to be a bit better in our negotiating, Diame had a low release clause as well. It's bonkers having a clause in for less than we bought Davies for.
The Yorkshire Post might as well be City's official website these days. If it's on there it's from the club. I'm more concerned about why he wanted out.
We sold Diame for more than we signed him for and Davies has been with us four years, so the fee is written down.
All I'm saying is he clearly knew he was down the pecking order here. As he himself said, he could have stayed here for added security, and presumably would have had a decent role in the team this season, but wanted a secure role for longer term. Derby presumably have given him that guarantee. With us, if we'd gone up again he wouldn't have had that. The end.
If you buy a car in 2000 and sell it in 2010 do you expect to sell it for more than you paid? (Excluding special models of course). Players, as with anything, amortise their contracts over time.
Which is why I found it weird you made your "12 players" comment as I did think we were in agreement on this.
I didn't even mean to post that. I changed my mind and deleted it, but this site always remembers half written posts and brings them back up when you post on that thread again.
In essence, for me he went for the money and a nice long contract. But had he stayed I think he would have played because we wouldn't have been able to afford to bring another first choice centre half in with him on the books
Nor at Liverpool apparently. Lots of thought that Dalglish really didn't want Carroll and had no idea what they signed him. Saying that though, Comoli did get Suarez...
David Meyler @DavidMeyler7 Replying to @clendinning @LFCKYLE12 Well I'm unsure I've had offers from Madrid and Barca seeing what's best for me.

I agree, not a fan of dof's. If you can't trust a manager to manage, then he shouldn't be there in the first place imo.
I'm hoping that whoever is the dof, is coming in to sort negotiations out, away from Ehab only. Picking players should still be down to the manager, that's why I think we ended up with SB's targets last year, because Ehab was trying to be the dof & ****ed it up Superbad! If Slutsky is the manager, I hope he has his own players in mind & not who Silva had earmarked if we down/stayed up.
