Wonder if Barton may feel the pressure and volunteer to take up the tab!? 3 match ban for Song too!

Report says NUFC will contest fine although Arse not decided about their fine but are contesting severity of Gervinho 3 match ban. Never thought Arsenal were appealing actually - boom tush! I'll get my cost...

£25k <laugh> Why even bother? times it by 100 then they might think twice about controlling their players!

    I can see it now

Mike Ashley will use this "substantial fine" as an excuse for saying we could no longer afford to buy Pieters/Cissokho/A new striker

What part of raising a hand is a straight red does Arsenal not get.

The management will probably still be miffed at Joey. After all, £25,000 is still £25,000...

I wonder if they'll take it from Joey, or whether Joey will offer to pay it...

It was Barton's fault like so I can see them asking him to pay it (on principle, not because we'll miss 25k), but we've appealed anyway.

Where do fines go these days? A worthy charity who would be indeed grateful for a substantial donation, or into the back pocket of a fat FA executive who would be indeed grateful for being kept in cigars and young women for the month?

£25k is a lot of money to us but a paltry sum in the football world, I'd feel better if it went to a charity or foundation promoting sport in schools etc. :emoticon-0131-angel I'll bet newcomers like Gerniniho must be wondering what the hell they've let themselves in for. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Show me the official rules that states raising your hand is an offence. I think you'll find that you can raise your hands in football all you like, what you can't do is strike another player.

The whole thing is a joke, 2 players had a fight and a lot of players separated them (on both teams), why they need to fine both teams is stupid. Also what is the point of such a low fine.

I wouldn't give them a penny, its a frivilous charge. We had one player and Arsenal had one player, "out of control". The rest were acting as peacemakers. There is no need at all to punish the clubs, its an absolute joke. Two guys have a slap and tickle match, and the whole club is punished for failure to control their players? The FA are a bunch of fannies, really smelly fannies.
