It depends if they work together or if the DOF just goes out and signs the players he wants. If they work together then it can work. Works at Everton with Walsh. To be honest anything to get Ehab out of the club can only be a good thing. Hopefully we won't wait so long to renew contracts now
It's been reported in a few places, including the Yorkshire Post, that we're looking to shake up the Football department. Having someone other than Ehab responsible for transfers should be a good thing.
As the story about the Director of Football came from the Yorkshire Post, it's very likely to be true, they're the only publication Ehab actually speaks to. I realise this doesn't confirm the story, but it does make it likely to be accurate.
I had indeed missed it in the YP, thanks. Will be interesting to see who might fancy it, given that the role will be to act as manager/owner go-between.
Yeah, it hasn't been confirmed by the club - but the YP reporting it is about as close to as you'll get.
Yeah it seems that it's likely centred around transfers which will be interesting. I'd assume Slutsky has been briefed on all this - whether it's his idea or not I'm not sure - so bodes well if he's happy with the idea. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
He never learns this. Next he'll accuse you of trying to have the last word, with the irony of him posting this being completely lost on him.
I'm actually struggling to think of one where it's caused issues. In fact the bigger issues for a while were at places like Man City/Chelsea/Spurs even where players were signed and then the manager blamed. The opposite seemed the problem at Swansea for instance where the Board wanted to implement one to help Monk and he didn't want one.
