Relegation clauses in players contracts have 2 major elements: 1) a reduction in wages to protect the club 2) a buy-out clause which protects the player If a club insists on a relegation clause then it's only fair the player has a reasonably priced buy-out clause.
Only offered, don't think he's accepted yet. Been suggested that we've basically sold him for the equivalent of his wages for the season - debateable that he'd have only been on 10k a week but who knows. Means we're essentially "up" 1m.
We also had Maguire, Davies, and Robertson on the books for 2016/17. But for 2018, juries still out on Odubajo as far as I heard, but we potentially have him, Lenihan, Tymon, Dawson, Rodgers. So far.
It's bullshit. Use your brain, how does a 1 year deal provide more security than a potential 3 year deal?
You don't rate Rodgers? Luer, Bowen, Tymon have all shown this season there is a path to the first team, so who knows.
Not surprised he's gone - hasn't really had the rub of the green over the past two or 3 seasons - firstly Brucie dropped him for a prolonged period so he could play Junior then he was injured then Marco didn't rate him and latterly he's lacked match fitness and his forms dipped - sorry to see him go although he would need replacing anyway in 12 months if we miraculously manage to get back in the Prem at the end of the season
I don't have a strong opinion on him, I just don't think these players count. I'm pretty sure Luer has never started a league game. Lenihan started one which was a dead rubber and Bowen only got in the team last season because we forgot to sign a squad, and I still don't think he started a game did he? Even Tymon hasn't really broken into the first team yet. This might have to be his year though.
Bowen started the Semi-Final against United, but not sure he started in the league. I think you're being a bit pessimistic. We don't have a manager yet, but once we do I'm sure we'll make signings. Ehab wanted the manager in before July, along with the majority of our signings. The first part looks likely to come true, so who knows.
I don't believe anything Ehab says and don't understand why anyone would. I'm thinking of the last two summers. Both times we were the last club in the 92 to make a signing. The extra problem we've got this year is we're going to need a **** load of them.
I've not seen him say it. Scratch that, just watched him say it. He's not going to go to Derby and say I came for the money on their club site He's at the back end of his career, it's a really good move for him. He certainly won't have taken a pay cut to go, otherwise he'd have stayed here.
Because it's in everyone's interest to get out of the Championship as quickly as possible. As I said, the fact he indicated we would have a new manager and signings by July and the first part is looking likely to come true, I'm inclined to believe the latter will too.
