Vote labour in, and the kids of those kids will be paying heavily for your decision to elect a professional protester into the role of PM so him and his clueless mates can try and play out a bonkers fantasy.

    Nice one.

So how come a higher level of corporation tax works fine in Germany and the USA then? Surely all the small business should be ****ed. No more Christmas markets and bratwurst huts because they've all been driven away by the corporation tax right? Just massive companies there.

Corporation tax was 28% in 2010 and the business had been booming pre the World wide crash

Labour are saying they'll put it back up to 26% which is still less than all of the biggest economies in Europe.

I've always voted Labour but can't bring myself to vote for them this time.

Dianne Abbott is as clueless and inept as you'll ever see in your life. The thought of her in the cabinet is laughable.

As for Jez? Voted against new anti terror legislation on 58 occasions and didn't agree with shoot to kill.

    May is hardly better mind.

End of the day I'm not a socialist and will do what's best for me and my family, if Labour get in I'm financially thousands a year worse off so why would I vote for them?

Theresa May regularly put down the opposition with apparent ease in parliament. In contrast Corbyn often got jeered out by his own party. He dropped the ball so many times. Far from being a sound bite, I haven't seen this observation reported anywhere, it's just an observation I've made myself.

The rest of your post is completely irrelevant, as is par for the course where you're concerned.

Multinationals trading in Europe still need a European base, they may all make their main profits in offshore havens, but they still need a lot of people on the ground somewhere to manage their operations. Just as indication, here are some of the multinational companies who currently operate their European operations out of Ireland:

    Amazon
    Apple
    Airbnb
    Dell
    Dropbox
    eBay
    Facebook
    Google
    Hewlitt-Packard
    IBM
    Linkedin
    Logitech
    Microsoft
    PayPal
    Twitter
    Uber
    Yahoo

We don't need to compete with tax havens to attract these companies, we just need to complete with Ireland.

I keep sniping at it because I believe it to be fundamentally morally wrong and extremely bad for the people of this country.

Clearly, it largely benefits the wealthy and better earners – hence why I disagree with it.

I too am voting for the good of the country – it’s possible that financially, I’d be better off under the Tory govt.

But that said, I want a country for my kids to grow up in where food banks don’t exist. My kids will do alright, but I know 4 million others won’t.

THAT’s what motivates me. Selfish **** that I am.

And I called you a millionaire because in the past, either on here or CI, you’ve claimed to be one.

    So what does it mean?

She makes the best sassy remarks in parliament and.... am I missing the part where this benefits the country?

Vote Tory and you'll have no NHS in 5 years.

    Nice one.

Unless you live in Hackney or Islington North - you're not voting for Corby or Abbott.

So the current rate clearly isn't working is it? They're all in Ireland anyway. Do you think we should cut it further to compete with them?

It's quite startling how things have changed in 4 decades.
I the 70s the unions held way to much sway and the public was a lot more supportive of strikes.
Fast forward 4 decades and the same strikes are looked upon largely with disdain by the public generally.
It just shows how the mindset can be changed.

It means she shat on Corbyn in parliament. Can you not read?

I could maybe dig out some of my daughters old alphablocks and spell it out in a picture for you?

David Davis said the Tory government has no objection to a united Ireland. All the IRA did was decide to wait until the North had a Catholic majority and vote for a united Ireland. Brexit may help them achieve that quicker.

    So what's the benefit?

She wins the dance off and all her crew laugh at Corbyn and his mates. Then what? How does it benefit the country? Why is it a reason to vote for her party?

I may have posted things that suggested I've done alright for myself, but I've never posted that I'm a millionaire anywhere. <doh>

Using Google as an example, they declared a turnover of over £20bn through their Irish registered company last year but paid only £47m in tax due to their convoluted tax avoidance structure. This is despite telling shareholders that they have £42bn in cash reserves.

If for one don't see the future of the UK as some form of bargain bucket tax haven economy for multi nationals.

It means that during PMQ's, May regularly ran rings round Corybyn, quite how she's made such a monumental **** up of doing the same during the election campaign is beyond me, but she obviously has.

    It's an honest viewpoint.

I've spoken about this with other people - I stress not you - and they take very similar standpoints but then are vehemently anti Trump when he is doing precisely that for US citizens.

    Weird innit?

Mainly because those countries have minuscule business rates compared to our mammoth ones which cost companies 5x the amount. That's another thing labour want to charge more to businesses. Our companies already pay more into the state than they do in the countries you mentioned.
