So essentially you believe in money in your pocket over education, emergency services, armed forces etc

    Great example for the kids.

Interesting though that Labour's campaign has been up and down the country meeting ordinary people in ordinary places.

Can you imagine May coming to Zebedees Yard for instance like Corbyn did the other week?

She and her cabinet have just been going to 'rallies' that have shipped in or specially selected Tory members, nodding and holding placards.

Corbyn barely has any security staff with him at all.

She (and Crosby) think you're stupid and she doesn't have to earn your vote - which clearly she doesn't.

She just repeats soundbytes to embarrasing levels and some people are satisfied.

Circa 1,000 Border Staff Agency workers have been cut by May as Home Secretary.

Of course, that doesn't matter according to The Tories and those screaming for our human rights to be revoked.

    Strong & stable my arse.

So you've fallen for headline figures that have been twisted by devious politicians to look as bad as possible. Come on Tobes you're not a dummy, have a look and think for yourself.

For a start the value of a pound has dropped by almost 25% since 2010 when the tories took over. The previous government was borrowing 9.9% of our GDP, we are currently borrowing 2.6% of our GDP. If we continued to borrow at the rate the previous government was borrowing at that annual figure could well be in surplus of £100m. As I said borrowing is inevitable when there are no cash reserves to dip in to, either government would have had to have borrowed, but it's a fact that the current one are managing the levels and affordability better than the previous.

You might want to live in a Police State - I don't.

As said earlier in this thread, the rights we have now have been fought for and paid for by blood.

To chuck this away would diminish our country at home and abroad.

Anecdotally, I haven't spoken to anyone recently who supports her.

Just people who vote Tory regardless - but none who praise her directly.

I'm just waiting for one of them to come along and claim we've had the European Convention of Human Rights forced upon us...

I believe I should pay the same percentage of tax as every other person in this country.

You obviously over simplified it to make me look bad. However, my personal view on taxes is everyone should get £15,000 tax free, everything above that taxed at say 30%. I don't get how it's fair that I should be taxed a higher percentage because I earn more money...

Does that not sound 'fair' to you?

I'm not voting for her or her party. Her campaign has been a car crash, but she was far stronger in parliament, where it really matters, than her counterpart. So it's an interesting conundrum which way you look at it.

The thing is, once we lose these rights, they won't be back.

Maybe it'll be used against our kids or our grandkids who dare protest, or who dare 'subvert' in the future.

I want a country I can be proud of, not one where I'm afraid to speak or do.

There's a severe lack of strength in her isn't there.

    No it doesn't.

I agree about raising the personal level of tax to 15k.

Even the Cons 'think' that the wealthier should (in public anyway) pay more in tax than lower earners.

It depends on how you measure her strength.

Before the impartiality of reporting in a GE came in, Corbyn was a laughing stock - made so by virtually all the print media (including the ****ing Guardian) and other popular media.

Now that fairer reporting has come in, people are warming to him - hence the mass rallies, hence the polls narrowing (remember his approval rating was ****ing Sunderland before).

She, on the other hand, away from the protections (well, slightly, the media are still well biased toward her) can't even debate with him.

She's ****. Can you imagine any other Tory PM being so weak in recent memory?

So do you think the current system is more fair?

I'd just like to get my head around how Tory supporters actually see this. Do you think it's more fair that money is taken from the low earners to give to big businesses? That junior NHS staff have this appalling quality of life while company bosses who are simply born into their empire get a nice cushy ride.

The argument for lower corporation tax just doesn't make sense. Currently corporations pay very little and the big multi-nationals still don't want their HQs here. We're obviously not competing with the tax havens so what exactly is the benefit of it being at this level? Just raise it in line with all the other major economies and then we can afford to have a nice country.

You keep sniping at people who in favour of lower taxation, even specifically making a snide remark about me being against things because I'm a millionaire.

Ignoring the fact that the above wasn't true, I deeply resent the implication that people who are in favour of lower taxes are doing so purely for their own benefit and don't care about anyone else.

For the record, not one of the Labour proposals will make a blind bit of difference to my personal circumstances. He could make the minimum wage £20 an hour and Corporation Tax 90% and it wouldn't personally affect me at all.

My vote is based purely on what I think is best for the country.

If a Conservative voter was on here calling Labour voters feckless peasants who want something for nothing, I doubt you'd find it acceptable, I don't really understand why you think it's acceptable in reverse.

    What does that actually mean?

It's a classic soundbyte and it's exactly the bollocks the papers have been spinning ever since Corbyn came on the scene. They, and the Tories, want us to ignore the policies and try to get us to focus on this daft populariy contest. They talk about strength but it means nothing. May goes on about negotiating a Brexit deal but what does that mean? Is it really going to be just the PM in a room with the EU thrashing it out. No is it **** it'll be lawyers and all sorts, but they want us to swallow this idea that with Corbyn we'll just have a jolly old Geography teacher in there.

The big corporations will just find a way to increase their 'debt' to their off shore holding companies, they won't pay any more tax than they do currently. Stop thinking big businesses, that's not what it's about. It's about the little people, the honest companies that don't cheat, that struggle to compete with the cheaters. The people who offer proper jobs, proper career opportunities and proper wages. These are the companies it will target, it just hands a further advantage to the big evil corporations you seemingly have a problem with, and no doubt shop with due to their lower prices.
