If Curtis is off then it will be a shame, he has been a very good buy and excellent whilst being with us. He obviously wants the best contract he can get for his last deal, and 3 year deal is something Ehab would not commit to, so good luck to him and I wish him all the best.

As other have said he is past his best now, and with Dawson we need a younger more proactive centre back like Maguire along side him. Obviously Maguire will also leave, so we need someone similar to play along side Dawson.

I read somewhere 3 years, maybe it is 2 year with an option for a further year.

This is a ridiculous decision to sell. Unless if he had a release clause as some reports are suggesting at £500k, if so why such a low release clause!! Absurd!

Will leave us with Dawson as our only centre back who normally spends half the season injured. Davies is made for the championship, totally dependable in this league.

Good signing for Derby and a good move for Curtis.

From our view he has been a great servant to the club but we need to rebuild for the long term.

As for the Mcquire debate, his success will depend on where he goes. If he goes to Liverpool or spurs he will struggle, their full backs always on leaving CB exposed, and he is not mobile enough.
If he goes to Everton, saints or similar he will thrive, their full backs protect the CB

Davies: ‘I’m Only Here To Win’
RamsTV in his first interview after signing for the club.
“I spent four years with Hull; four years that I really enjoyed through the highs and the lows. I felt, though, that it was time for a new challenge for myself.
“It was all very quick but, the opportunity to play for this manager in a team which is very strong, I believe it’s a good opportunity for us as a team to get back into the Premier League.
“We’ve seen what Derby can do and I believe, under this manager for a full season, the squad that we’ve got is more than capable of promotion or at least the play-offs.”

Whilst he maybe 32-years-old, Davies is far from considering himself to be in the twilight of his career.

Having spent a significant chunk of his professional football life plying his trade in the Premier League since breaking onto the scene as a 20-year-old, he very clearly only has eyes on returning to the top flight – this time in a Rams shirt.

On a personal note, he feels the opportunity to play for a club like Derby will ‘reinvigorate’ him and is the best move possible to further his career.

He added: “I believe that, at my age, people start thinking that you want to wind down and look for a bit of security but that is not the case with me; if I’d have wanted that, I would have stayed at Hull.
“I wanted to come here to try and win and achieve things because ultimately, every single one of us want to play in the Premier League.
“I’m no different, I’ve played there a lot which means I want the chance to play there again. I’ve had a taste and now I want a few more years in the sun, as they say.
“This is an opportunity for me to reinvigorate myself.
“I just felt that it was time. I know that I’ve enjoyed my time at Hull and there are a lot of people that I’m going to miss but I want to do the best for my career and I believe that is with Derb

Not surprised he probably knew that he would end up warming our bench.

Can't fault the lad for his effort and commitment, was always a favourite of mine. If it's a release clause there's nowt we can do and even if there wasn't and he just wanted a new challenge, I wish him all the best either way. Club's a shambles.

I don't get what the issue is here, it's probably the best outcome for all parties and he leaves with only my best wishes.

Fair play to him, sounds like he could have stayed here on a bigger pay packet but wanted to go out and play week in week out. Not all players put football before money but good to see him doing that.

Good luck Curtis. Good in his prime, but that's well behind him now. Too slow and error prone latterly.

Really? How you work that one out? He'll be on at the very least the same at Derby but probably more and he's got a 2 year deal with the option of a third. Moving to Derby has given him more financial security.

Probably the part where he said he'd have had more security just staying at Hull. <doh>

Not interested in another tit-for-tat, was complimenting a legend.

He's been excellent for us overall, but I'm not really arsed that he's gone.

    A message from Curtis...

It's with a heavy heart that I must say goodbye to Hull City!

I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the football club that helped me during my time here and made my time at the club so enjoyable, I will truly miss you all!

As for the fans…through the highs of the FA Cup Final and the lows of relegation you have never given me personally and the team anything but love and support. I feel like I will be leaving all of you guys behind too, as you welcomed me to your city with open arms and took me in as one of your own. It was an honour to have captained this great club. The club and city will always have a special place in my heart.
