You do realise that since 2010 the Tories have increased our national debt by more than the previous Labour Govt did in 13 years don't you? Which included bailing out the banks in 2008....

The idea that the Tories are frugal whilst Labour were spendthrifts is a complete fallacy, that completely ignores the actual facts

Austerity has failed, our debt has massively increased, we've got working people relying on foodbanks, our NHS is crumbling, we've lost 20k police, the gap between the haves and have nots is ever increasing and Cameron gambled our country's future like a pissed up poker player in trying to split the UKIP vote in 2015, and delivered the slow motion car crash that is Brexit.

My wage bill has doubled in 15 years but every f'ker wants everything for nowt! You go into a bar and ask for a pint and the bird serves you it and then says "that'll be £5 please" You'll all be happy knowing she's on £10 an hour? If labour get in I fear for small businesses! It's ok you jumping on here with sound bites of labour this and labour that! As if it's cool to be labour but at the end of the day it's the people's vote that matters! So we'll see eh?

She tweeted "I hope people refuse to vote Tory in Hull. Their cuts hurt us." Seems sensible advice.

The supermarkets wage bill will increase by the same amount as yours, and those costs will ultimately have to be passed on to the consumer, so how does that change the current dynamic one iota?

We had all this discussion when the minimum wage was introduced. Businesses didn't go bust and the skies didn't fall in.

Exactly, as the increase is across the entire spectrum, so small businesses will have to ultimately pass on the increase in their employment costs in the same way that the large corporations will.

If you've ever known anyone who's been a supplier to a large supermarket they'll tell you what they're like! I've had dealings with them and they're ruthless! A simple example is they'll ask a grower to grow thousands and thousands of cucumbers ( could be anything ) BUT they'll also ask others to do the same thing! Then when it comes to harvesting them they'll negotiate a price ( usually rediculusy low ) knowing that they've got others who'll supply them! And you've got thousands you can't get rid of! Supermarkets are ****s simple as! So when you go into one thinking these are cheap? They're aren't a tin of beans at say 50p has cost them 15p! ****S ( rant over)

Corporate business in ****ish behaviour shocker, but that's been the case for donkeys, and with respect is irrelevant to the point about increased labour costs which would be universal.

If you were to tear up the way everything was set up and start again, then the Scandinavian model is probably the one you'd go for, but it's obviously not that simple.

There is a completely different mentality there, along with a very different set of circumstances.

The gap between the highest paid and lowest paid is much smaller, which is a good thing, but they're very small countries to manage, with a very outward looking attitude and decades of building to where they are now (they didn't have to build from a position of being country decimated by war, which ended up covered in sprawling council estates and integrating millions of people from its colonies and all sorts of other factors)

British businesses usually concentrate on building businesses in Britain, which expand beyond our shores if they're successful. In Denmark, they think very differently, because Denmark is so small, they see their market as Europe not just Denmark. With a small population and a great deal of income generated from outside the country, their model is a far more practical proposition.

Germany is a slightly different situation, unlike us, they managed to maintain a manufacturing business by moving into manufacturing premium goods and they remain a massive exporter of goods internationally. While they were building VW/Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Porsche into worldwide premium car brands, we were merging all ours into a nationalised industry making utter ****e that nobody wanted.

No but you said that the increase in wages would have the same affect on them! They're profits are through the roof because of the practices I mentioned! So it is relevant! And everyone shops in them! even labour supporters!
