Apparently he met up with Klopp in Blackpool and exchanged texts and also met with Conte. I would love us to stand up and challenge such behaviour and say he's going nowhere, but player power and the money involved will prevent that. Saints don't need a disruptive player in the ranks and we aren't rich enough to keep him and not play him. In the end, resistance is futile.

I've seen articles talking about this % to Celtic like it is a shocking thing...rather than a usual part of any contract. It's a way to keep a sale price down....the selling club protect themselves against looking like an idiot when a player is sold on for a fortune. Celtic would be well aware that a player like Virgil would only increase in value after time at Saints. We have similar deals in place....though with less hope of much of a return at the prices we sell at.
