http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...co-Silva-Sacked-Thomas-Tuchel-Virgil-Van-Dijk Express claiming we have sacked Puel after giving him time to take the post at St Etienne...as he hasn't, he has been fired (possibly). Wouldn't come as any surprise after all this time. They said we missed out on Silva because we took so long about the decision....though that is pure supposition.
Does Crook have connections at the club? Could well be an educated guess on other reports we've heard
If he has gone then good luck to him elsewhere. Thanks for Wembley and Inter. Let's hope we get a top quality replacement. I just can't see it happening but Tuchel would be brilliant.
I'd like us to go for Roger Schmidt. He's currently out of work after leaving Bayer Leverkusen this season. Finished fourth in his first season, returning Leverkusen to the Champions League. Then came third in his second season, but parted ways this season with the club slipping into mid-table. He's very much in the Pochettino mould, and he even says himself that he sees himself as very similar to MoPo in terms of philosophy. He loves to play fast, passing, attacking football with fast breaks and intense, high pressing based from a high defensive line. He already speaks English, too, as far as I'm aware.

He's pretty much the only name other than Tuchel I have seen mentioned. There dont seem to be too many managers out of work so good that there are two good names on the list. I'm imagining most other offers for these guys will require the sacking of existing managers. Oh, hang on, so does this one.
Yeah, I've been on the Schmidt train for a while. Has a chance to do wrong, but that's my kind of gamble...it's Poch without the ball, but quicker to strike with it, which was my only complaint with our first tour through the land of the high press.
Schmidt definitely comes across as more of a man manager. If we could get him or Tuchel in it may also get VVD to commit to another season? Here's hoping
Our real problem is that our standards have risen, so there are fewer managers of the quality we need. The number available is even smaller and that is further reduced by the number that would even consider us. And we are running through the list rather fast....with a recent average tenure of 15 months. Perhaps we should start an academy for football managers.
Think Schmidt would be getable but agree with Tuchel. Don't see Schmidt linked though, and keep seeing Monk mentioned. Think we need to go back to a progressive manager with good player manager skills as per mopo.
Plus if it was to be Schmidt, the deal could be done quickly as in no job at the moment? I still have a hunch on the Fulham manager.
Saw that, but the article I read quoted The Sun, so I checked the Sun and they didn't say that directly. However, it is only a case of waiting for the announcement....deed is done I'm sure, but the details need sorting.
