I'm not that bothered by Bertrand and van Dijk going but if the club think most fans will consider Targett signing a new contract to be good enough news to come anywhere close to balancing the sale of van Dijk or Bertrand (maybe both) then they're deluded. They would probably need to announce a couple of reasonably big signings to stand any chance at all. Maybe a new manager I guess.

This isn't quite true. If I remember correctly, we had quite a bit of cash on hand as of the end of last season, and that was before revenues jumped by about 40-50%. Per our most recent books, there is enough that we're paying off KL's loans to her now, and have paid off one of the external loans as well, so skint we are not.

 

Walker being valued at 40 million makes me piss myself. Hes no world class full back , take his pace away and he'd be **** , because is defending is pretty average at best.

If I was in the trenches and turned to look at the man besides me I would hope see Cortese and not Reed. I like men with the stomach for a fight. The wimps can stay at home with the women. Reed needs to show us he has some balls and to tell the scousers where they can get off. He needs to show us that he can be a winner rather than a pathetic and frequent loser. Virgil must stay or at the very least under no circumstances must a second rate has been club like Liverpool get their hands on him. Come on Les show us what you are made of. Don't leave us pissed off with you again.

 

If you were in the trenches with Cortese. He would have spent so much time and cash to make his place look nice, that the trench would be about a inch deep.

 

Call me deluded/optimistic but I feel this could be a little bit more than a "hiking up the price exercise".
