Put it like this taff........I loved football with a passion and i followed my home team through good times and bad for over 56 years, I believed whole hardheartedly in the trust and what it was suppose to stand for and i met and become friends with many big Swans supporters some who sadly are not with us anymore......4 years ago i and a few other members of the trust quit because the club was being run by morons and were ignoring the trust full stop and i for one did not want to be a part of it, I then questioned myself on enabling football in its entirety ripping fans off while the football world was paying themselves from top to bottom huge amounts of money and not giving anything to those that pay vast amounts of money to follow them. Players were earning vast amount of money that for the very top players was an obscene amount.....Players and clubs have become far too greedy and with the money they get could easily let the fans in for a token sum of a quid and that covers insurance that you have to have inside any stadium.....I made the decision 4 years ago that i would never ever pay a penny to enter any stadium to watch a game of football again and i have stuck by it......I still get to watch loads of games even my beloved swans and there is a growing number of fans doing exactly the same.......We are in the top 50 of the richest clubs in the world and will keep getting richer but sadly our country is getting poorer with far too much poverty not just in our country but around the world...
Swans true to form are losing their targets and have gone back to their comfort zone in chasing Non league players.....Well done Huw...you will never change..
" losing their targets ". Such as ? "chasing non league players". I read about a Preston fullback. Is there anyone else ? Names, Dai, give us some names.

He isn't Preston is he, thought he played for Barrow. No problem with trying these sort of players, especially if cheap you never know. Just hope we don't base our squad again on bargain basement though.
Perhaps he was attached to both teams. I'm not sure. There's nothing wrong with signing players from lower leagues. It makes financial sense. "You never know", indeed. Unearthing a gem for a modest fee is such a great feeling. Rangel, Scotland, Michu, Gomis ( ), etc.
I agree but we cant base our squad on that, I hope we wont anyway. It is still very early and I just hope for once we are sorted come pre season.
Is at Barrow was released by Preston. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3747193/swansea-nick-anderton-barrow/
Both Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor came from non League football, played for the swans and were sold on for a profit. Good business if you find the right player.
The slight difference there is they both started in lower league and built up their experience over time and didn't jump straight from non league to the Premier league. I am not saying it cant be done but both the players you mention are different to what we are doing now. Just my opinion of course and haven't said it wont work.
I dont think any new player coming from non league would go straight into the first team ( unless exceptional) but finding these nuggets is all part of the trading for profits. Big clubs have been plundering the lower leagues for years now its our turn to cash in.
But you used the comparison to Williams and taylor who went straight in to our first team. Just pointing out the difference. If you use them as a guide it is different in that they went straight into the first team and it was because we were L1. But if you look at everything I have said it is I don't see this as a bad thing as just hope we don't start signing all lower league players.
I think most sensible people realise that if the Dutch lad and the full back from Barrow sign they are not intended for the first team but the under 23's. Although I did read that if the player from Barrow does sign he will be sent out on loan. It's early days yet and there will be loads of rumoured signings as usual. Depending on who stays I don't expect many first team signings but like others I hope they're completed early.
