General view in Liverpool Land seems to be that Saints have reported Liverpool to appease fans. There's only one way to appease us....keep VVD for at least one more season.
While this may be true, their level of arrogance and self-entitlement today has been astronomically comical.
It does bug me somewhat when I read posts on here after we sell or are selling a player that the money will end up in KLs pocket
My hope is that we have evidence of tapping up from Liverpool over previous transfers and this whole transfer thing between the clubs has been an elaborate honey trap
Liverpool are sending scouts to St Mary's this evening. They have heard that someone called Williams is playing there tonight and they decided he might be a great signing for them.
You are absolutely right sir! We are apparently the ones in the wrong for "grassing on them". I've seen a few comparisons of us to "the kid that that no one likes in school, that tells on everyone". That makes Liverpool the bullies. Good job guys.
Because it is very very wrong for inferior clubs like ours to stand in the way of a player joining their club and doing exactly what he wants. Contracts are only important for proper clubs and we are just meanies.
I mean, the money is ending up in KL's pocket, just not that directly. By financing transfers with transfers, she has cut her financial commitment while the club's value has skyrocketed after the new Sky deal, so she'll end up pocketing a profit of 150m+. Using the last five years also means that it's taking into account Cortese's spending; Transfermarkt has us taking in 40m more in transfer income than our outlay over the past three seasons.
Anything less is an insult considering they are paying £40m for Walker (apparently). I'd want £30m for Bertrand. Well, what i really want is £10m plus Iheanacho but this is real life not football manager.
Shame. Bertrand has been a good player for us but we have been good for him too. He is now an England regular and a 1st team starter in a top 8 prem team. He has never been that before. Careful what you wish for Ryan the top 4 team might have you as a squad player in a years time.
In fairness he will probably go on to achieve and earn a lot there. Think we couldve kept for another year again but he is replaceable.
The Ryan Bertrand of two seasons ago would be very hard to replace. I'm not sure how much we'll miss the Ryan Bertrand of last season, talented though he obviously is. He has looked for a while like he really couldn't be arsed.
Don't reckon we'll get much more than 20-25 for him really. He's 28 and if we're gonna ask for stupid money they may as well just get Mendy. Will be a big miss though, despite his indifferent season.
Like the mane mess I expect we will sell Bertrand too early before the going rate is determined this summer. It will help man city have a settled squad asap which is nice for them. Nevermind us. They are desperate for a LB so we should say £40m too like mendy and let city work out what they want to do. Let the big club suffer for 5minutes. We are no good at this though I reckon he will be gone for something ridiculous like £15m in a few days
