The speculation from our end is very far fetched imo, it is being suggested that the claims from your end are a way of getting back control of the transfer. Sounds like bullshit to me though.
It would never happen but if they got a transfer ban I think I'd take a days leave to drive to Liverpool and literally soil myself outside Anfield.
I was just thinking that. VVD has been secretly gathering evidence to get all the big cubs transfer bans so that they won't be able to steal any of our players or strengthen and we will be the biggest club in the premier league still able to buy players! Thats the fantasy i'm going with.
Each side is reading into it in different ways. It could just be a genuine illegal approach and we've had enough of it. But again that is just another opinion. Only the ones in the ivory towers know what's going on.
Can't you lot play nice. We've brought a few duds from you and built up our loyalty points to be able to get this one sorted nicely no?
I think you'll find that the sense of humour over transfers between our club is at breaking point, your comment will go down like a lead balloon.
Whether the 'tapping up' stuff is true or not it strengthens our negotiating position when we finally get round the table with Liverpool.
I imagine Virgil is outraged at the wages he has been offered....perhaps he even nearly crashed his car (a la Ashley Cole), so he rushed to Uncle Les and put the boot in against a big financial player in the EPL. I agree....let's go with that.
This is from the Telegraph article which seems to sum up the situation quite well - "Southampton are especially concerned at suggestions that Van Dijk is personally attracted by the chance to work with Jürgen Klopp amid competing interest from Manchester City and Chelsea. Southampton are well aware that transfers often involve informal and indirect conversations but feel that a line may have been crossed. Significantly, their stance over Van Dijk will also have been hardened by the reports. They regard a fee as £50 million or £60 million as insufficient for a player who only signed a long-term contract last summer until 2022." What the source is of that I don't know.
After you bought Lambert, Lallana, Lovren and Clyne, we gave you Caulker as a loyalty bonus. You've got to buy another three full-price players before you get another freebie.
