What's everybody queuing in bus station for? Queue spilt out onto Ferenswag originally but it's started moving now.
I was in the middle of it and it could have turned out nasty. Very badly organised and Humberside police did nothing to control it (as usual)
The general consensus seems to be that the gig was brilliant, but the transport arrangements were terrible.
Not followed it but couldn't you just drive and park up nearby? Or get a family member to pick you up?
23,000 people, no on site parking and a request that everyone used public transport. Under those circumstances, you'd think that they'd at least make sure there was a reasonable amount of public transport to use.
The gig was excellent but the bus arrangement shambolic...No barriers or proper queues just thousands milling about on the road...They should have set up park and rides instead of just putting extra buses on the normal bus route. No comparison to the BBC event's organisation with transport at the BBC big weekend.
No excuses for ****e organisation and this depends on people's mobility, but why wait so long. I could have moonwalked into town in that time. At least walk up to southcoates lane or Holderness Rerd for an alternative route.
I think i just thought that buses will turn up eventually as some of the traffic died down. There was nobody giving any advice. A lot of the queue were from out of town so without your knowledge of directions and buses. Most had also had just stood for 5 hours at the concert. So with hindsight i would have walked but at no point did the bus company say we have ****ed up so even though you have paid for your tcket you had better walk. Why was the concert not at venue that is used to dispersing crowds of 23000?
I had a similar situation at gatecrasher at lotherton hall in 1997 I stayed an extra hour to see Carl cox then ended up stood next to my cousin in the bus que When the bus turned up the driver freaked out out and drove off with the buss half emty I gave my cousin my shirt as she only had a boob tube and her boyfriend was a ****, we walked to garforth and got bacon butties at my aunties (not the mother of the cousin I was with) at 6 o'clock
Does anyone know if there will be any inquiry into this shambles. I will happily give my feedback if I knew where to do it. It seems to me that the bus company is laughing all the way to the bank with the events of the last two weekends. I would imagine even the people who gave up and walked back had probably paid for return tickets.
Where did you see that? I like the Libertines musically but I find myself reluctant to fund somebody with Pete Doherty's criminal record and particularly somebody who makes a cat smoke crack.
