I haven't looked back to check and I'm prepared to be proved wrong, but the way I remember it wasthat you said you thought he was the type of person / player who might give us a year in the championship.
That was me mate, going on what people I know, who know him and his family have said about him. Can't blame him for wanting to stay in the premiership, I would put money on him not going to a club far from Lincoln though, he is big on family
I'm sure he was just talking in empty platitudes. But who knows, he may well stay if Slutsky sells him a strong vision of this season and the future.
As I have said previously, the people I know who know Clucas and his family, know them quite well. But that certainly doesn't mean he or his family would tell others his plans. City can still be very attractive for him, Slutsky (if he is our new manager ) likes two holding midfielders, so is likely to play a lot. We should be pushing for promotion, and winning games, all good for development. Guess a lot will depend on how he sees his long term.career
I don't blame them, we'd all do the same. They're only at the top level for a small period and it's the chance to be set for life. Who gives a **** what club you play for.
Because it's a short term move and not good for the career if you're young and have many years ahead in the game. But moving/staying in the PL is completely different.
I'm currently working a job where I get paid roughly half of what I could get elsewhere doing less work because I know in a years time the experience will open better opportunities. Some people actually make job choices with a longer term view than a few quick bucks.
But you don't have a limited period where you can earn good money. Footballers never know, an injury or a lack of form can change everything.
