Tips / Bets Summer transfer market 2017

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by The Ginger Marks, May 31, 2017.

  1. Stop there!

    You clearly haven't got a clue, Akky!

    Did you not read the little play I created? It addresses the grave fallacy that you have fallen foul of.

    Levy isn't going to be quoting any price, because the player is not up for sale. It's all media speculation, no doubt engineered by City's tapping-up machine. Levy has played these kinds of games before and won on every single occasion.

    If City want the player, they will have to make a bid. If Levy is inclined to sell the best RWB in the Prem to a major rival for peanuts, there might be a deal on the table.

    You and I both know this isn't going to happen, so save your wummery.

    It isn't about what the player is worth. It is about whether or not Levy wants to sell a top Prem player to a rival. If he doesn't, neither City nor any other Prem club will buy Walker, at any price. If Levy is prepared to sell Walker, the chances are he'll go abroad, first. If Levy is inclined to sell Walker to City it will be because (a) Poch no longer favours Walker, so the loss is for the overall balance and benefit of the squad, and (b) City will be paying through the nose.

    "Doesn't want" is probably a touch extreme, but haven't the pair supposedly fallen out (Walker and Pooch)?

    You're welcome to correct me on that if I'm wrong <ok>

    His value is what the buying club will want to pay. Levy can price him out of a move all he likes, it doesn't him a 70m player.

    I agree that Levy will name a steep price. But you seem to think that clubs will still want to pay the ridiculous amounts you're quoting.

    I think City will offer 40m (which I personally think is expensive, but this is 2017) and the bid will either be accepted or City will sign someone like Sidibe who is younger and has performed much better at a better level than Walker for the same price.

    As i've said, the only reason Man City will want to pay a touch more for Walker is that he'd weaken you.

    I know right?

    I wouldn't even value Kane at 75m. Alli and Eriksen would both be worth it though.

  6. Apart from tabloid "news," what else have you heard?

    Yeah, thought so.
    <ok>

    There's various rumours, but nothing clear. He was rotated, but that's normal.
    Pochettino will always switch his fullbacks if we have more than one game a week and options available.

  8. Duh!

    You say that like it isn't ****ing obvious!
    <doh>

    But what part of "Levy doesn't have to sell" do you not understand?

    The idea that Levy will sell to a Prem rival without slapping a massive surcharge on him is, quite simply, naïve on your part.

    Levy doesn't need the money.

    Please get that into your skull.

    If City want the player, they are going to have to pay through the nose.

    It's not like going shopping in ASDA! You see a tin of beans and ASDA want £1,000 for it, you can **** over to TESCO and get the same tin for 50p.

    If City want Walker, Levy doesn't have to sell him. It's then down to how badly City want him, and whether or not Walker is determined to leave.

    Levy doesn't want to sell him. Levy doesn't have to sell him.

    Only if City offer a stupid price is Levy likely to even begin to entertain them. And, even then, he may still tell them to **** off.

    If they do, I fully expect Levy to tell them to "**** off!"

    It isn't about the money. Levy doesn't have to sell the player, and he won't want to sell a player as good as Walker to a rival.

    I feel that I am repeating myself, over and over, here!
    <doh>

    It won't be, because Levy won't want to sell to a Prem rival, and he doesn't need the money.

    In which case, why would Pep even consider bidding on Walker?
    <doh>

    Are you doing this on purpose to wind me up?

    The only reason Pep would bid for Walker rather than Sidibe is either because he believes that (a) Walker is better, or (b) Walker is the same but will be cheaper to buy. In either case, if he offers £40m, Levy is likely to tell him to "**** off!"

    Why?

    Because Levy won't want to sell the player to a Prem rival, and he doesn't need the money.

    <doh>
    Yeah, that's exactly the reason why Levy will gladly sell Walker to City!!!

    Transfer fees are completely off the scale these days, but even then Walker is nowhere near worth £75m. Nor Eriksen.
    Alli might go for that sort of figure because he is so young and has his whole career ahead of him. But even then I reckon £50m would be more realistic.

    Your two standard 'go too' excuses when you've been done.

    Anyway, back on topic before Forrest here has another meltdown like the one we saw earlier on the job thread.

    Van Djik looks set for Liverpool, anybody care for a guess on the fee ? I reckon that will be up near the £40m mark.

    ****ing hell, what a rant.

    I've numbered each bit of nonsensical dribble. I'll answer each bit in turn because I can't be arsed fiddling with the quoting mechanic.

    (1) - You literally said that his value is what Levy is willing to sell him as you moron.
    (2) - I've not suggested for a second that Levy needs the money. Only that he'll be falling over himself to accept should he recieve a £60m+ bid for Walker
    (3) - And like i've said, If City offer a reasonable amount and it's accepted they'll move on to the many, many right backs that have had better experiences at the highest level.
    (4) - Great. Lets see. £40m is a lot of money for a right back gets rotated so I doubt it.
    (5) - Like i've said. Lets see because from what I gather Walker will want to win trophies.
    (6) - Are you mentally ill? Again, i've never said that he needs the money. This is your paranoia setting in.
    (7) - <laugh> I suggest you read my posts. You've either answered questions you've fabricated in your own mind or are well and truly rattled. Sidibe has proven to be a better player in the Champions League and is younger but Walker has the Premier League experience and the bonus of weakening a side that will challenge for the Champions League.
    (8) - You are a card. I'll give you that.
