I started off thinking Mrs May's coronation was a formality, Labour would be wiped out near as dammit, and the Libdems would replace them as Her Majesty's Opposition. WTF is going on?
Corbyn should just lie when he's asked about using nuclear weapons. Saying that he would use them in self-defense wouldn't mean he'd actually have to use them.
Another thing that makes me uneasy is the amount of celebrity pressure there is to vote Corbyn. That came back to bite Hilary on the arse.
I can't see anything other than an overall majority for Mrs Me. However, I'm more optimistic about the future for Labour. Right-wing dogma has been challenged for the first time since John Smith died, and the sky didn't fall in. There is a clear majority of young people supporting Labour, and far from being out of power for 20 years, there is a strong possibility of winning the next election.
The question remains - will they stick with Labour after Corbyn though? I see them as Corbyn fans, not Labour if I'm being honest. The challenging of the right wing stigma is a valid point and something that gives me hope going forward.
Surely that would need to be tested (the sky falling in) in Government not just during an election campaign?... Problem is that if the 'sky does fall in' during a Corbyn government he has five years to permanently cripple the Country. What is 'right wing stigma' ???? I have never heard that phrase before? ......... or are you talking about Social Stigma?
The thought of Diane Abbott as Home Secretary in the event of a terror attack will have a significant effect on thursday's election result.
No guarantee she'd get the gig. Mrs May standing strong outside No: 10 saying enough is enough will also have an effect on Thursday, it will focus the mind that she has cut 20,000 police officers from the force whilst she was Home secretary & told the Police Federation not to "cry wolf". I'm starting to believe she could well grasp defeat from the jaws of an overwhelming victory in a style Neil Kinnock could only dream of, & to think she brought it on herself by calling an unnecessary election. (by defeat I mean a victory giving her a majority not much different than she had before, thus weakening her position rather than strengthening it.)
Very active on Twitter. Just had a conversation with him. Bullish as ever "biggest majority since 2001" . Can't see it myself. Corbyn appears more comfortable where Mrs May is less sure of herself. Her 20000 sins of the past gave come back to haunt her in the worst possible way for the country.
As a labour voter I would be the first to admit Diane Abbott shouldn't really be an MP let alone Home secretary. But Boris Johnson? Honestly, put the pair of them in a room and lock the door.
Didn't see it but heard it was bad. What's she done now? And why can't Corbyn exchange her for some luncheon vouchers or something?
Hobsons choice. Untrustworthy, uncaring, number crunching robot PM or caring human but no idea on economics & a fool as his home sec. Tough call on who to vote for, Labour, Greens or Lib Dems. Academic as the sitting Tory will get back in. I've swung between all three in recent weeks. My resolve not to vote Tory has been hardened as the campaign has continued. If only Labour had a more "mainstream" leader and credible front bench, but kept many of the radical policies I'm convinced the outcome would have been even closer than I believe it will be come Friday morning. I can't see Roystons landslide for the "Police forces sweetheart" Mrs May & look forward to his spin on it.
Just the usual - being horribly underprepared again for a live interview and speaking like a 4 year old going for a job interview at Merrill lynch
