No meltdown from me. Just want to club to get the best deal possible and not loads of add ons paid over 5 bloody years or so. If they want him that bad, pay asap and the price the club want.
Why are they deluded? They are much bigger than those 2 in terms of support. Without a shadow of a doubt.
To be fair mate it makes it 6 players in 3 years to Liverpool. You can be all let's keep calm about it but that is a joke.
Someone joked that Liverpool could have brought Southampton for the amount they have paid us in fees over the last few years.
If we can get £70-£80 million for VVD and Bertrand, that is some serious wonga to tempt a new manager? Plus money from Fonte sale, that would be closer to £100 million as all contracts have been upped last 2 seasons. Still think Jay Rod & Long could go, pushing spending power up to £120 million mark. If this happens it will definitely soften the blow of VVD going. Will also remove a lot in wages ?
I expected Virgil to go. Just wish Krueger and Reed would just keep their mouths shut about outgoings - only pisses off those who choose to believe them. He could do better than Liverpool, loads better, but he is a world class player. Saints playing catch up in a summer - yet again.
I agree and like you said a couple of weeks back it's starting to get embarrasing for both clubs really. I've been resigned to him going for a long time but didn't think it would be Liverpool. Still won't get really pissed unless we get a mug price though.
Not embarrassing for Liverpool...we have given them the spine of a Champions League side at very reasonable prices. No reason not to keep going back to that well. Probably good for season ticket sales, though. Stating that you're likely to sell one or more of your best players would do a number on the renewal figures.
Most outlets saying "upto £60m". It should be at the bare minimum £60m. It's utterly embarrassing. I've got loads of Liverpool mates messaging about it in their smug little way. It's all good banter but its just a pisstake now. I'd love them to choke their play off.
