I did 10 minutes gay dancing to the real Andy Bell this morning to celebrate Erasure tickets. "We'll be together again. I've been waiting for a long time. We're gonna be, we're gonna be ..."
I'm off too. Can't wait. Nice to have headliners to look forward too for once as well. I don't see a problem with him playing Wall of Glass at all, it's his only solo song out there at this point, and it's a good tune. It's not like it was the only song he sung. If it was, you'd have somewhat of a point Kemps.
The fans don't pick the music, that's not how most gigs work. And considering he's just announced a solo album and released his first single, people can't be surprised at all if he plays it. Besides, he played the tune people wanted to hear: Live Forever. Defnitely a shame re Noel. I can only hope he has a good reason for not being there.
Full marks go to the young girl who'd been present at the Ariana Grande concert and had to have an operation following the attack. She showed real courage there.
OT but why are people so obsessed with bands getting back together? You had 20 years to watch em and if you weren't born, tough. Oasis is done, The Stone Roses has been ****ing painful to watch and if The Smiths ever did it would shatter everything I believe in about music. Just leave it alone.
I watched and I think I might be guilty of this. I can't think of anything that has moved me in a decade. Except Walnut dying, obvs.
Even though most of the music was not to many on here's taste, including mine, for the age group it was for it was a wonderful evening. My granddaughter went and a great time. Whatever your taste in music you couldn't help but me moved by the whole occasion.
I'm perfectly fine if Oasis don't get back together, I've seen them live, and Noel's solo stuff is good. I'd rather them to do a Beatles instead and just contribute every now and then to each other's solo work. On The Stone Roses, I went to Heaton Park, and it was probably the best gig I've been too. Agreed on The Smiths. Please don't do it. Though I don't think Marr or Morrissey ever would.
I saw Stone Roses at Brid Spa shortly after Reni left. It was one of the worst gigs I've ever been to. And as for the new material, it wouldn't have made it as b-sides in the late 80s early 90s.
