I would be more than cross if it's a penny under £60m and really think we should be setting the price at £70m. But if/when we get £60m+ I will have no qualms because life is life...
Only playing devils advocate here, but I wonder what strategy Daniel Levy would take if VVD was a Spuds player and what price he would set....?
Think of what happened when he lost Bale. You basically make it as expensive as possible for the buying club.
And now some of their players aren't signing new contracts and numerous ones linked to moves to "bigger" clubs who can pay more.
I'll be disappointed if Virgil goes for any less than £70 mill and I wonder if clubs would rather wait and see how he returns from injury first. How can we compete wages wise though when they're bandying figures of £200k a week? Would love to see Spuds lose Kane, Ali and Eriksen to "bigger" clubs though
I suppose Real Madrid would love to get their hands on Kane. If Kane has another successful year going into the World Cup, I could easily see RM persuading Spurs into selling him. And give them Bale in exchange!!
Just saw article in Business News saying VVD's transfer to City was agreed, then noted they were citing the Mirror as proof. So read it, sighed in disappointment that he was gone, started to move on....then realised it was no news at all. Guess it's a bit like an inoculation against pain....if it really happens it will hurt less.
Sounds like he is our number 1 target? http://readsouthampton.com/2017/06/05/saints-ready-meet-sportings-semedo-valuation/
