I work for a major law firm, not in the magic circle (hiag can explain) as an IT Project Manager, been in the city for around 13 years now. I love the job as its so diverse and challenging. I could be doing any IT projects to projects involving mergers and as its all internal there is no consistency in the sense that you will be doing the similar boring projects all the time.

The only thing I don't like is that working for a law firm you realise how the law is twisted by these scumbag lawyers to suit the wealthy lot of the times. Law firms in general are like modern day Robinhood, take from the poor give to the rich..

Before this I was working for Renault as senior tech for around 5 years and before that various short terms jobs...

Worked in manufacturing all my life, having various engineering roles after my initial apprenticeship. I've worked for my current employer for 28 years. Started as a shift electrician, but was identified as having potential (not sure how!) and through a development plan, which included being sponsored through an electrical / electronic degree, have now had a number of engineering / leadership roles. I work for a very large global organisation and my current role is capital projects manager for the EMEA region.

We are talking about what you do and not what your clubs reputation is to others!

Started of in a factory but got sacked for allowing a **** load of scaffolding fall on me when I was 16 yrs old.

Worked with kids in schools and then in kids homes from from the age of 17 until I was 25 when I was made redundant.

Did some anti racist work and factory work for a while before going back into working in a kids home.

In 1994 I left working with kids cos I was about to start a family. Long story cut short ... after my son died I did library work.

After I got with Mrs RCL and had our 1st daughter in 1997 I did **** office jobs
(Student benefits, pest contol, residential and trading standards ... all advice and admin) part 3 days a week and had the pleasure of being at home wigh my daughters for the rest of the week.

Did some night work in a noise pollution team too.

In 2007 both girls were in school so I had to get full time work so became a finance Officer in a welfare roght office helping go run the office and manage the budget of £600,000.
Was ok paid for that...best paid job I have ever had...then in an act of lunacy I started doing voluntary work in a primary school when my hours were cut and in 2011 I got job as a Teaching Assistant on less than half the money <doh>
Afyer afew years I got this job in a special unit for kids who have behaviour and mental heath difficulties.
Other half is much better paid and wanted me to go back to the work I love...and to gets socks of piss lobbed at me!

But at least I got to bore you ****ers stupid with my tedious existence

Long time ago ... would be 23 this year!

    Thanks.
One of those weird things in life...most likely would not have got with Mrs RCL had he lived so would have not had my fantastic daughters...that thought nearly drove me nuts until I saw a counsellor years after he died.

Not trying to be glib cos it ****ed me up big time and I still get very sad about him sometimes but...you know...its one of them facts of life like:

    1) **** like that makes you stronger
    2) all man utd fans live in Surrey
    3) all gooners are annoying mo fos
    4) ginger marks don't like anyone
    5) never trust a geezer called pete with two or more kitchens
    <ok>
Once you understand these rules all makes sense!
