I just want to get something back out of the ****s after the cartload they've had off me over the years.

It's ok mate. I sell sports equipment and football souvenirs. I've managed to get small contracts to sell for a couple of small league clubs.

First job packing shoes on the night shift at British Shoe Corporation in Leicester for a year before going to Uni. Second job after Uni was Assistant Manager at a Decorators Merchant on Freemans Common (just across road from the King Power stadium) ... then a change of direction and first foray into the line of work I'm doing today. Joined one of the big accounting firm's in their Milton Keynes office, later transferred to St Albans and then did 2 years in London based at Blackfriars... 14 years in all then left for a stint at FTE 350 chemical company - not the best move - they got acquired by a VC house who sold off various bits and closed down several in house functions including my area - got made redundant but was lucky enough to walk straight into a job at another big accounting firm where I spent a further 9 years ... got recommended to my new employer (or more accurately, their headhunters) by a former colleague and I will have been with them for 3 years in September.... a FTSE 100 company with one of the biggest in-house functions in my particular area ...

Wanted to be a PE teacher with English or Art as my academic subset ... still baffled as to how I ended up doing what I now do tbh ... never in a million years would I have considered it whilst at school. :)
