There's bargains to be had undoubtedly but not for players that have been prolific or had very good years in the championship the previous year

So what you're saying is that players who have had outstanding years for their clubs are generally hard to buy? I'm gobsmacked.

He's a midfielder, it merely illustrates the crazy values for anyone who's had a half decent season

Still better than your example of Wood who wasn't prolific when Leeds signed him and that was 2 years ago when prices were cheaper

3 years ago when prices when realistic. They sold Hogan for 15m in Jan. Who's the better player?

That's.. the same thing. If they're hard to buy you tend to need to offer a higher price to buy them.

Therefore, they'll cost a lot of money. That was my point

2 years ago actually, and he went for 6m.

Prices were realistic back then were they? The previous summer when Fulham were relegated they bought McCormack for 12m.

You corrected my wording of your point only to say that what I was saying was indeed your point.

I think what PLT'S saying to you is that guaranteed championship goalscorers do cost £15m and EPT's valuation isn't silly at all.

They're not worth that much, but that's how much you have to pay.

My original point was that signing the most prolific in the championship would cost a lot of money, around £15m to be precise. That isn't wrong

And as I responded, I'm gobsmacked that buying the best players in the division cost a lot of money. I'm glad you're here to give us this amazing insight.

We can still buy or bring in prolific players for fractions of that, even ones proven in the division.

If you want to go out and poach a player that scored 20+ the previous season, of course.

But if you want to find a young player who has scored 10+ in previous seasons, it won't cost you that much.

For example, how much would we accept for Hernandez? If a Championship club offered us 9-10m, would we take it? He scored 20+ only two seasons ago.

Who could you bring in that's been prolific at this level the past season for a fraction of the price?

I think Forest would be tempted by 8-10m for Assombalonga.

    Read the post right below.

How much did Ritchie cost Newcastle? 12 goals from him is pretty handy. They might be happy to cash in on him as they look to upgrade.
