Another beautiful day in rural France, and slowly the estate is beginning to come back under control. I found some decent everyday wine at the supermarket at €9 for 5 litres. I found out today that it had nearly all gone, so re-stocked. :emoticon-0100-smile I am now also in charge for the next three weeks of my neighbours garden as he goes back to Florida. He is doing some work to his house and starting to bring back some of his belongings as he no longer likes the country and is going to sell up. He is now retired, but spent his working life on environmental projects around the world, so has great knowledge on the subject, and you can spend an evening learning a great deal over a bottle of his cousins chateau wine. Certainly not €9 for 5 litres.

Rather cloudy here with the occasional shower. Rather good for getting some runner beans in, but the problem will come later when I need to water them. The water butts are full, but will it last? It didn't last year and I lost some well established plants. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Lovely day at the Aegeas Bowl. Hampshire 515; Warwickshire 45 for 6. In cricket of course it's technically possible for this still to finish as a draw but with two days to go it shouldn't happen!

Morning all, dreadful happenings again in London last night. My thoughts are with all those caught up in the event, and those who are trying to save lives at this moment.

I do love the unpredictability of cricket! A Trott 100 and maybe rain tomorrow afternoon mean Warwickshire could well save the game...remarkable considering the position they were in. Early wickets tomorrow to separate Bell and Trott (again) would please the hone fans but the pitch looks easy now!

And a funny thing...the Warwick no 11 a young spinner in only his second game I googled and found out he went to my school. This led to a chat with a Warwick fan behind me who also went there which led to reminiscing about teachers we both remembered. I never lived in Birmingham again after leaving secondary school in 1963 and have never met anyone in the intervening 54 years who did either. We both agreed Mr Trout was not the best History teacher in the world!
