He also had only scored a combined total of 5 goals in the previous 2 seasons. He certainly couldn't be considered as a prolific goalscorer when he signed for them
Age clearly has an effect on value, I thought that was obvious. Everyone but Ince on that list is 30 or over. The only one that isn't is Ince and he scored the least amount of goals out the aforementioned and Derby have said they want over £10m for him. Considering Brentford got £15m for Hogan and he has a very similar goal to minute ratio to Vibe, I assume they'd want a similar amount for him
You said generally a prolific striker will cost 15 million in the championship. Which was clearly bollocks as now age comes into it. So they won't go for that as they're too old, you say. Ince is young enough but not prolific enough, so won't go for that. So there's no strikers then going for 15 million as they aren't young enough or goal scorerery enough? I never said there's no one that will go for that. Abraham, Woods, Knockaert and Gayle all would if they became available. Arguably they're the 4 best attackers in the league. Even though the older ones wouldn't go for £15m they'd still go for significant figures and certainly wouldn't be cheap as some are inferring.
The £100m prize money in the PL has only been around for one season and price tags have inflated accordingly. Over the next few years it'll only go one way. Over the last year there's been 6 championship signings that have cost £10m or more. A few years ago that was unthinkable.

Villa, Newcastle & Wolves all spent over £10m on an individual player last year, Villa did on 3 players and Newc did on 2. It's not wise but someone will. The rewards of getting to the PL are so great that someone (probably with a new owner) will take that gamble.
