Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has suggested the club are unlikely to be able to sign Mamadou Sakho this summer. The Liverpool centre-back went on loan to Palace in January having been told by Jurgen Klopp that he wouldn’t feature for the first team. Achieving an outstanding season for The Eagles, Sakho was a rock at the back for Sam Allardyce’s side, playing a key role in their Premier League survival as a result
I think we are having our usual trouble with signings. Many linked, few will be solid leads and Vvd is going to city, we are just driving his price up. I wish we could solve whatever the problem was with sakho and keep our dealings private. Just want to see pics of people leaning - job done.
Why Mohamed Salah turned Liverpool down for Chelsea - and why the Reds shouldn't be too concerned about that now Speaking to MBC Masr in April 2016, he said: “Liverpool had wanted me for a number of months. They had opened talks in October 2013. “Negotiations took a long time, because Basel rejected more than one offer. They felt the transfer fee was not that high. I was waiting for Liverpool because I really like Liverpool. I was eager to join them. “But then I received a phone call from Mourinho and that changed everything. He explained the situation to me and told me that he needed me at Chelsea. That was one of the main reasons why I joined Chelsea. “Mourinho told me that he thought I was a good player and that he wanted me to pick Chelsea.” http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor.../mohamed-salah-turned-liverpool-down-13126967
Lie him down in goal and we are unbeatable, well thats the theory - we missed our first target which i believe was this guy...
Indeed... that one is a classic I will be adding the ryan sessegnon. England LB and man Utd legend should have been an lfc player to the list too. The we bought balotelli after selling suarez one is hard to top but if alli keeps it up....
When does it started?. Players choosing another club over Liverpool ??. Before players are proud to play for Liverpool.
Not sure you can blame the players. If liverpool could just bother stumping up the transfer fee. What do you expect players to do, sit and wait until Liverpool might offer the correct amount?
yup. you make an appropriate offer, you negotiate without moving goal posts with player and you pay going rate. Then you can expect the player to think you are a proper club. I'd say agents so.. meh come talk to me when you actually get a price agreed cos you lot have zero credibility
This is the big problem with American owners (not just ours). American sports have alot of haggling and 'negotiating'. As I understand it there aren't really transfer fees, the buying club often only pays out the existing time on a players contract (the value of wages over the length left). That's why we're likely to see FSG wanting to go for freebies, cause its something they can understand. Football is now sellers market. There's some room for haggling, but in the end your going to pay somewhere near the asking price. And not at a bargain basement price (unless there some reason the club wants to sell)
seems so. they trade, and draft and it seems to me the model that yanks use is to "draft" in young players and develop them, then trades are that reare one of or giving away two guys to get one in that you never really wanted. I would agree with you the fees have now gone so far that you could build a gold leaf a 90k stadium out of one big transfer fee. Clubs need ot buy low and develop then make a killing. AND its a lot easier when you sit in france where you are assured of CL football every year like monaco... or dortmund in germany. We just fail to take the risks at times like this salah lad who we spend 3 months trying to save 2 mil on a fee then lose to cheslea and end up back for 3 times the fee min. Same for van dijk. 10 mil v 60mil.. ooops. If you see talent buy it don't piss abot with a spreadsheet that tells you his stats are worth 35 and not 50. live i nthe real world. #sackedwards.
