"Furthermore, the strength of the English Premier League, combined with their good operating and financial results, allows London side Tottenham Hotspur FC to oust Paris Saint- Germain FC from the 10th position, thus increasing the number of English teams in this top ranking to six, together with two Spanish, one German and one Italian. While Les Parisiens show stable improvement in almost all the parameters taken into account in our valuation (which led to an 18% EV increase), Spurs are displaying a significant upward trend, especially in terms of profitability and squad value, as demonstrated by a higher EV growth (26%). The future looks bright for Tottenham Hotspur FC, as they plan to move to a new multi- purpose stadium, and as they have recently secured UEFA Champions League qualification for the second year in a row."
Given they've reportedly pulled out of any deal to sign Ryan Sessegnon, we're back to making no sense by signing a player with two seasons left in him (if they're lucky) who was hardly a shining light for City this season...but no youngster to learn from him, unless there's some **** hot prospect in their youth team I'm not aware of.
Their other reported target in that position's Andrew Robertson of Hull. OK, he's not Sessegnon's age, but it gives them one very experienced option and one decently experienced one that's still young. Far better than their current options in that role, assuming that they were to sign them both.
Meanwhile, in the Falangibunker, Los Ladrones and Marca respond in the way they usually respond when teams don't know they walked into their tapping-up trap... please log in to view this image
Not surprised, based on the Pogba transfer that would that be 59.5M for the agent and half a million fo ManUre.
Mino Raiola is happily blabbing to the press about Everton making a promise to Lukaku saying he is free to leave if "certain clubs" bid for him this summer, while also doing Everton so many favours by saying he expects his client will move this summer. In other words, Mino Raiola is reminding the entirety of world football that he's a piece of **** and clubs would be wise to steer clear of any of his clients.
City have signed Edersen for £35m. Great seeing Pep work his magic. Takes real skill being able to inherit the best players or having the courage to buy them.
Stoke have signed Darren Fletcher from West Brom on a free, as his contract expired at the end of the season. They've looked at their aging central midfield and decided that a 33-year-old is the answer to their problems. Well done, Mark Hughes.
Roberto Mancini is taking the slow route to a career in the Chinese Super League, becoming the new manager of Zenit St Petersburg.
Bale's injury problems are already catching up with him, with talk that Supreme Chancellor Perez will offload him to the highest bidder this summer. By all accounts, Isco and Asensio have had far better seasons and are both vastly more popular with the notoriously picky Bernabeu mob. It is entirely normal for a player whose entire game is based on raw pace and power to start getting injuries with increasing frequency, but only towards the end of their career. Did Bale push himself too hard? Either way, it just goes to show what a superhuman athlete Ronaldo is. Quite incredible.
As I have said before, CR7 is fast, but that is ONE facet to his game, not the only facet. Therefore he has not suffered the fate that seems to have beset Spurs players such as Bale and Lennon. As for the fickle Perez and Bernabeu mob, not as if Bale was not forewarned that such a fate can be a real possibility.
