If the UK had acted irresponsibly like the French government and completely ignored the deficit it would have injected more cash to invest in these areas. It is right they have looked for efficiency savings and cost cutting. The subject I know more about, the NHS, needs proper reform to avoid the current high levels of waste. There is a damaging culture that refuses to embrace normal financial procedures.
It has proved impossible to have a proper discussion on the subject.

Let us wait and see which party the country trusts on these subjects next week.

You tell us you want to debate, so now we know that you believe the NHS is the cause of it's own failure, maybe we can have your views on schools.

You should be more concerned about the huge problems France is facing.

There are thousands of ex pats in France and Spain whose dream has died. They are stuck in countries they don't want to be in due to the crash in house values and lack of purchasers. Even if they can sell at vastly reduced values their cash buys much less in the UK due to the success of the UK compared to most EU countries in recent years. Many regret leaving the UK.

Read my post again, I have already explained tackling the deficit has meant less cash for all departments.

I think anyone who reads this will know that you are not serious about exploring any of the issues. Less cash for all departments does not show that you can put forward a reasoned argument. It really is not good enough to just go off at a tangent every time you are asked to explain the policies you are supporting and presumably know something about, else you wouldn't support them.

Your failure to understand simple economics is frankly your problem. It is understandable you want to deflect any reference to the problems ex pats and nationals face in France. Maybe you are one of those unfortunates stuck in France?

I will leave it to others to judge that last attempt. No answers from you, so it is a waste of effort.

I know I'm not allowed to post on here and I accept the decision.
But I've had a few drinks and
I've read this forum every day, like I have the last BBC forum, going on for 7-8 years.

Can you all please stop feeding the xenophobic little **** and put him on ignore? I respect the patience of you all, but please consider letting it go.

Recipes please <ok> Or just the ignore button/don't answer. I came across a poster on the Guardian website trolling every thread about Brexit and the Tories, whilst gloating about a £1M house and the Tories being in power. I would bet anything that it's him. Just let him infest another forum.

On a side note, there are lots of other interesting political debates on other forums on this site. It's very easy for the supermods to create a cross-board thread. You would have a whole new lot of opinions and views to discuss, a lot of them being the opposite of a 'lefty clique'.

Toby out. Please always feel free to PM me if you have any IT questions.

This is the General Election thread.. not the France one...

Give us YOUR views on NHS reform, which you say you know something about.

You really dont want to have any debate do you??

Classic tactic is to somehow lambast your 'opponent' when asked for serious discussion

This is the GE thread.... no one wants to discuss France here.

When discussing UK politics it is most useful to compare our policies and performance against alternatives, especially in the EU. It might be inconvenient for some, being shown the weakness of their anti UK monologues.

Craig Mackinlay, 50, Nathan Gray, 28, and Marion Little, 62, have each been charged with offences under the Representation of the People Act 1983 and are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 4 July 2017.

Craig Mackinlay is the Tory candidate in South Thanet, and has been under investigation for over spending in the last election. The other two are organizers for the party.

I hope he will stand aside as it is probably too late to put up a different candidate.

(Please be careful about what you say over this issue. Social media is being watched. )
