I think it is a two horse race between the two favourites, Karanka and Ranieri. Out of all the names mentioned so far my number one choice would be Laudrup, second I would like Pearson (and given control over signings so I know it can't be him) and I wouldn't mind Clotet if I am honest. Clotet coached the players Monk brought in, he obviously had a bit of a say in a few of the targets and I would imagine he would happily work with a director of football. Keep Clotet and Beatie allow Clotet to bring in another assistant coach and keep the continuity. Why take a gamble, Clotet knows the players, Bartley put the change in defence down to Clotet not Monk, get him installed.

Hi mate, the problem I see with Clotet, which actually may be great by the way. Laudrup brought Clotet into Swansea along with Hernandez. When Monk took over Clotet stayed and worked with him successfully. Clotert followed Monk out of the door and when Leeds came in followed him to Leeds. I think he will follow Monk again. Is Laudrup coming and Clotet staying, is Clotet offered head coach job and thinking about it or ... Whoever it is will only be head coach and work with Orta so that narrows things down.
I don't rate Sacko in the slightest but others who watch him seem to believe he can do a job, who knows. Better news would be that we have signed Bartley but unless a player is out of contract we can't sign anyone until 9th June
