Wish they were. That 100m figure is the total cost of the transfer - 50m in fee to us and then the rest over the course of his wages etc in the contract.

Very good post Fran. I'd like to think that by being able to bring in such players to begin with, our own youth talent may also learn more from them. Which, in turn also benefits the club.

 

A point could well arrive where we don't have any great players left to sell. The players that come are not guaranteed to do well, selling the ones that do is not a super solid recipie for succes as some might make out.

As much as I respect the club and support the team we are not on the up, we are on the slide. I am hoping that the right things will be done to arrest the slide. Selling our best players is not going to make that better. The good ones that are left will be unhappy, managers won't be attracted and neither will players with ambition.
