Doug Loft at long last declares himself fit, and vows to pay back Colchester for his absence. Now 30, he reckons he has struggled with the injury for over two years.
Jed needs time to destroy their team, he started well for us and gradually destroyed the backroom staff, the team, and my positivity.
So thats why Cargil went back to Bournmouth to make debut aginst Man Utd. Kept clean sheet too. Might play even more games if Mings get suspension for stamping on Zlatan.
Couldn't help noticing on Tuesday, watching the scores on Sporting Life, that round about the same time that le Fondre put Bolton 2 - 0 up, Myles Weston scored for Wycombe and Brennan Dickenson scored for Colchester. Still can't understand the logic of letting him (Dickenson) go.
"..Gillingham were so short ahead of the Peterborough game that Mr Scally suggested to his management team that Ian Cox – who last played in the Football League in 2008 and now works in the club’s community department – could still do a job. .... (lol !!) (altho', apparently : "In August 2013, however, he came out of retirement to play for Whitstable Town") Pennock decided against getting the 45-year-old out of retirement".... (as he's going to play himself !!?!) (http://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/green-light-for-ady-122876/)
Joe Martin has been released by Millwall. He's a full-back (( if you can remember the time when we used to have fullbacks )). He has helped Millwall to reach the Championship -- must have done something right in their last two 'successful' seasons. He has got loads of experience, but still only 28. Might be worth considering.
3 out of 4 ex Gills were successful at the play offs. Joe Martin & Mahlon Romeo both secured promotion for the scumbags although Martin has been released. Jack Payne was part of the Blackpool side that beat Exeter on Sunday. Jordan Obita however wasn't so lucky, missing Reading's last penalty meaning that Huddersfield secured promotion to the top flight for the first time since 1972.
Emmanuel Osadebe has now signed for League 2 Cambridge United on a 2 year deal. I hope it works out for Paddy as he's a very talented boy, just with a couple of attitude problems.
Whatever went wrong with Jack Payne?? He was supposed to be the next big thing, with a Premiership future. Left us for Posh when they were in the Championship and eventually was made their captain. Now he's down in lg 2, and has just been released by Blackpool!
Thought I had better mention Cody as he is now a ex-Gill, not only that but it might be my last chance to wind up brb.
Not sure that the lack of a sell on clause is much to worry about, its likely he will available on other free when his contract expires at Cambridge. Very few players that we have let go have gone on to have particularly stunning careers.
