Bobby - don't think no one will really disagree with Reina being a better keeper than Reina, however his form really dipped towards the end of the season and on top of that he also said about how he wanted to join Barcelona.

Put it this way, 3/4 years ago, Cech comes out and says he wants to join Barcelona, on top of the fact his form was dropping too. Would you really be bothered about keeping him? Baring in mind Reina has never been as good as Cech either!

Btw I probably already know your answer to my question anyway seeing as you've already said that it's always fun to laugh at us

There's a slight difference... you didn't just get rid of your keeper who had an inconsistent season (doesn't everyone get away with one of these), you chucked him away for Mignolet which was a massive gamble.

You didn't just leave your team with an untried first team keeper and non existent backup (imagine if minger was sold and you only had karius), you loaned out for a fee of a million and then proceeded to lose reina on a free transfer when he as an asset was probably worth far far more.

We sold Cech for 10 million to Arsenal at the age of 33 and that was considered cheap as we were doing him a favour for being a club legend.

Reina had been flirting with Barca for quite some team and had an agreement with them until Valdes got injured and the deal fell through.

We signed Migs on the strength of the reins deal happening - the club planned for his exit and we brought in a replacement. I don't think the club could have done anything differently

Bobby's a Chav - a nice one (there has to be one :emoticon-0109-kiss: ), but nonetheless he'll take an opportunity to have a dig if it comes along. Just as we would in reverse.
My memory on this is pretty clear and it is that Pepe had been flirting with Barca well before we signed Mig. And nothing else actually makes any sense, why on earth would we want to push him out? Whether or not he'd made any plans, he'd made it clear that he wanted to go there, so we had to plan ahead.
Also you have to remember that people at the club know what's going on behind the scenes long before we get to see it.
There really is no other credible explanation, imo.
But yes, it's been well flogged this one, so let's leave it.

We bought Pepe from Barca, I remember when he was the goalkeeper against us in the champion league, he performed very well maybe
we bought him because of this.

We bought him from villareal but h did play for barca in uefa cup in 2001. barca released him after signing robert enke who then did faff all for barca... so barca are really not very careful with players

    They let a lot go.

I think the point is he felt pushed out. He wanted to go Barca, that didn't happen. In the end i think you loaned him out to napoli for "wage saving" reasons.

As i said, it was bad enough having him replaced by an unknown when he had improved his form in a dodgy last season.

To not only have him replaced by an unknown (and from the looks of it, one thats been pretty poor although he has improved this year), you got rid of him for literally nothing when he would have been worth a bit of money in my opinion.

The ECHO understands Liverpool doubted Sessegnon's commitment to a move to Merseyside and have subsequently withdrawn their interest. (Echo)

I think Sessegnon wants to go to Tottenham or any other London club interested. Good luck to him.

Maybe, but like I said, we don't really know all that's going on behind the scenes. This often leads fans to jump to conclusions, and some always seem to want to assume the worst and have a dig at the club when things don't work out the way they think they should.

Okay, i won't conjecture pushed out (even though you gave him away :p) but do you not think it was a mistake leaving only an untested 1st team keeper (proven true) and no good backup/competition as well as effectively giving away a player who actually had good transfer value?

Do you think that was good business and team management?

AGENTS are causing a lot of confusion, they want to sell players to the highest bidder, sometime what new read in the papers are
    point blank lies upon lies.

I think it was probably a bit of desperation, tbh. Wouldn't be the first, and sadly probably not the last, time we've been in that situation.

Sorry but you've made all that up :emoticon-0110-tongu

We've had this discussion multiple times. I've posted numerous links in the past showing how, when and why Mignolet was signed and the timings. Valdes announced at the end of May 2013 he wouldn't be renewing his contract when it expired in 2014. There was no deal with Reina - unless you can provide a link. There was no injury [until March 2014].

Taken from Telegraph June 2013 - ''It is understood that Liverpool would move for Mignolet if Reina did depart, especially since Barcelona's Victor Valdes has pledged to stay at the Nou Camp for another year.'' 2 weeks later Mignolet was signed. You could say Rodgers did it out of spite, like making Suarez train alone etc. etc. Napoleon complex ....

well they could actually bid like.... i do wonder sometimes about the bullshit talked about.

Either they bid of they don't anything else is just bull. What he's saying is we opened the door for spurs and held it while they went in and got the bargains of alli and sessegnon...... ooops.
