I don't think he's good at all and if we'd stayed up and Silva left I'd never advocate getting him. But we're a ****ing car crash and we have to cut our cloth accordingly. And I really wouldn't say his spells at Derby were a disaster, in his first spell from memory weren't they pissing the league until the last couple of months before a bad run saw them blow it? And then last season he massively improved them from Nige's terrible start. I'd totally take finishing in the top half next season.
Quoted as saying he wasn't interested due to Newcastle connection. He'd have to perform a U turn. Can't see a football manager with integrity doing that, can you?
Like BCC said, he wasn't a disaster at Derby. Before he went there they were a totally uninspiring lower mid-table every single year club and he turned them into promotion contenders which they've been ever since.
I don't hate McLaren, but there's a reason he isn't quickly linked to other Championship jobs. Alexander at Scunthorpe would be my preffered choice if we were going British.
Think a lot of people exist on a diet of tabloid pundit opinions. Some of this feeds through onto here.
Silva is after raiding our keeper and right back........................ Jak and Maguire? EDIT. jak and Omar http://www.hertfordshiremercury.co....eper-at-hull/story-30363576-detail/story.html
Ask Forest and Derby fans what they think of McClaren. He last had real success at Middlesbrough and Twente. He has been hopeless in the rest of his appointments.
Watford Observer runs a story on three players Silva might potentially go for from his last club. The Mirror reports exactly the same story, but says they're 'chasing' them. Hertfordshire Mercury (part of The Mirror Group) repeats Mirror version of the story. It's nowt but a speculative guess.
