With all the media hype going on about Puel's future you would think the board would make some sort of statement. I E either back him or Sack him!! We/They have to think of the future transfers in as well about the transfers out. Doing things at their leisure is all well and good if they still get the premium players on their list. However leaving things too late usually means your are held to ransom on price. Not leaving you time to get replacements in if it falls through. Which is probably what happened last year. Also waiting for Puel to make up his mind, gives him the opportunity of playing devils advocate.............I e maybe leave at the last moment when all the decent replacements have been snapped up by other teams.

Supposedly a big name French Journo has us linked with him - that's where express etc. are getting it: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba...laims-that-tuchel-is-set-to-be-saints-manager And I'm not always a fan of TUI, but this is also great piece of analysis from them: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba...ub-briefing-the-media-ready-for-puel-decision
Although l believe Puel has been treated unfairly, this was be a definite trade-up but l seriously doubt he would come to us.
What I find a bit humorous is that the replying posters all refer to the author as Nick [Illingsworth]. And I don't think he gets anywhere near to writing these many of these things. If he has written the above then I've underestimated him.
I agree Puel's been treated unfairly, but when a coach like Tuchel becomes a free agent like he just has, we'd be mad not to at least make contact with his agent to see if he'll talk. We may be a "small club", but Premiership football is still a big lure & a great shop window for actual "big clubs", so I'm not going to totally dismiss the rumour. I know he used to write the majority as he would vigorously defend his opinions (and leaving in spelling & punctuation mistakes in as "authentic") on the TUI forum, but it's been a good few years since I visited there, so I don't know if he still writes them.
Indeed. I think the change of pace from the football season to the close season is a bit of a judder to some. It's just a couple of weeks since Saints played their last game. Slow down. Plenty of time. I'm sure the club are working hard to get things sorted.
Funnily enough, it's the lack of 'authenticity', shall we say, that makes me doubt it is Nick Illingsworth writing most of the time. Or he's been on a writing course.!
I can see the pictures now - him shaking Les's hand, holding up the scarf at St Marys, talking to the press for the first time - "We have to prepare ourselves for a relegation battle..."
