Probably not. Levy will make any deal incredibly difficult for you. Mourinho only goes after experienced players who cost a ****load, though. That doesn't leave a lot of options in the fullback market at the moment.

TBF to myself I would have to say it's the newspapers that wind them up and when I point out that they are wrong it becomes my fault. Does anyone honestly believe United would try to buy all or even half of your defence, does anybody actually believe you would sell half or all of your defence? Apparently so because if I point out we would not go for half or all of your defence they get all whingey and uppity about it.

You don't think that Man Utd would try to buy players from another Premier League club with less money? It might not work, but even if it fails, you might unsettle those players if they hear about it. They definitely would, too. Mourinho talked about screwing over clubs in the same division by buying their best players recently. He did it in the context of taking a pop at Guardiola, La Liga and the Bundesliga, but he still said it. Do you really think that he wouldn't try it, if he thought it had any chance of working? Man Utd pulled it off with van Persie, while City did it with the rest of the Arsenal squad. They've got more financial clout than we have.
Of course they would and do, just like every other PL club. Otherwise our league teams would be full of foreign and home grown players with none bought from other PL clubs. Do you think Mourinho spoke of some dark secret other managers didn't know about and use to their advantage, agents use the same trick when trying to get moves or a better contract for their players Believe me there have been very few players who have moved when they didn't want to, if a player becomes unsettled after being linked to another club then he isn't very happy where he is.
Of course it wasn't a secret. It's something he's done in the past, as have Utd. Players can be entirely happy, until other clubs and agents get in their ears. They can remain happy after that too, but other teams won't know unless they try. You're claiming that these are ridiculous, unfounded rumours, but nothing you've said seems to support that.
