Arsenal reportedly bid £35 million .... would prefer him going to a French club (seem to be a few making enquiries) ... but we are all resigned to him leaving ... just pleased he stayed for the UCL and signed a new ciontract allowing us to get top dollar ... and we've got some good youngsters coming through ... Demerai Gray and Toom Lawrence (who was Ipswich's player of the season) ...

 

Mahrez has finally realised Leicester are a **** team that fluked the league.

The most talented player I've ever seen play for us, by a fair distance too.

Me too mate ... one slight consolation is that he won't be going anywhere near Liverpool ... he's "fiercely ambitious" ... so that rules them out

 

I hope he goes to Monaco. He's far too good to be wasted at any others English club when he's on form

 

Not really their style any more, is it? I thought they'd switched to bringing through youth players?
They do seem to be selling their whole team to City though, so perhaps using some of that money on Mahrez would make sense.

We need to ignore the 'Arnolds' of this world John lad ... they will forever resent us winning a title over 38 games and putting Sevilla out of the Champions League etc when they have never won the title and got right royally dry humped when the came up against Sevilla in the Europey ... some of 'em just can't handle it buddy ... very poor losers who have now formed a poor losers alliance so that they can all cry together ...

 

What does he owe us? He played a massive role in us winning the title.

He agreed to stay last summer and give us another season. He has every right to want to leave because he's absolutely top class and he deserves Champions League football.

 

Thing is ... a few of our more moronic types have even turned to jeering the lad this season ... some don't think he defends well enough ... I love him, he's the most gifted player we've had at the club in my lifetime and one of the most gifted in the EPL without question ... he would now be better suited to playing in the European leagues than the EPL IMHO ... because Prem teams now put 2 or 3 players on him as soon as he has got the ball ... he'd have more time (not to mention better technical players around him if he moved to a European team) ..

 

Same could be said for any player. Anyone demanding to leave is a twat.
They always say they want to further themselves but if not every player with a bit of talent jumped ship, other teams might be able to challenge. Big teams putting in players heads that they should demand transfers to them just keeps up the closed shop cycle

 

I've never critisised him defensively but have been genuinely frustrated with his attacking efforts. In all honesty based on this season I'd put more priority on keeping Kasper, Vards and Ndidi based on what they've brought to the team
