The childcare part of the interview began with Mr Corbyn being asked whether he had the figure for its cost and replying: "Yes I do."

Pressed to give the number, he said: "I'll give you the figure in a moment."

"You don't know it? You're logging into your iPad here - you've announced a major policy and you don't know how much it will cost?" presenter Emma Barnett said.

"Can I give you the exact figure in a moment please?" the Labour leader said.

Asked whether this indicated that voters should not trust Labour with their money, he answered: "Not at all."

He argued that investing in children in early years meant they did better in school and added: "I want to give you an accurate figure."

Eventually, Ms Barnett quoted shadow education secretary Angela Rayner, who was on BBC Radio 4's Today programme earlier: "£2.7bn, then £4.8bn... with half a billion to reverse cuts to the Sure Start scheme. Does that sound about right?"

"It does sound correct," Mr Corbyn said

Nup nothing wrong with this interview what so ever. No siree Bob .<laugh>

Hi Mindy, Jeremy's manifesto is fiction unless he gets voted into power. Highly unlikely

I am actually dealing in facts here Mindiod, not fantasy.

Corbyn talks about putting Corporation Tax up to claim in more dough when the facts are that the Government claims in more in tax receipts when the rates are lower than when they are higher and not to mention that the less CT is, then it attracts businesses to these shores.

Graph 1 Corp Tax receipts (over same period CT rates have fallen from 28% to 19%)

Of course, if they chose to skelp 10% onto CT then all the big multi-nats will head off to Southern Ireland and as usual, the wee guys will be the worst hit.

Corbyn needs to be stopped and I'm counting on MI6 doing their stuff.

There isn't anything wrong with that at all. Its desperate from you tbh. He is not making up figures like the last king of Scotland, forgetting where he is like May or also; like may, dealing with the threat of "tourism"

Not necessarily and it all depends on if Brexit actually means Brexit because the lady is not only for turning, but she's actually pirouetting like a tutor at the English National Ballet School.

    • A plan for additional NHS spending across the UK that would, by 2021/22, increase the NHS budget by up to an extra £1bn
    • Increase the minimum wage to over £10 per hour by the end of the parliament
    • Lift the freeze on benefits and abolish the two-child cap and the so-called Rape Clause
    • Protect the triple lock on pensions, protect the winter fuel allowance and support fair pensions for women
    • No increase in taxation on the low paid, in National Insurance or in VAT.
    • Support a UK-wide increase in the higher rate of taxation from 45p to 50p.
How about these policies Mindy. Any you don't agree with ?
