In January the Allams sold players as quickly as possible for the quick money (I still don't see why Livermore was sold). I'd quite like it if Grosicki went elsewhere than Watford just because it's always some bare faced cheek when a manager leaves and then takes players with them.

Grosicki didn't do much for us at all anyway.

To be fair , the way he miscontrolled the ball perfectly into robertsons path against West Ham , you can't teach that sort of natural ability

 

He wasted hell of a lot more than he created, his final pass for a pl winger is poor

 

But then if every cross led to a goal he'd be playing at a top club, not with us. All strikers miss more than they score, it doesn't mean they don't do anything.

 

He never really looked like scoring either.

 

Because each club will will have to out bid the previous.
So Watford for example bid the activation fee , another club comes in and city say you can speak to him for Xxx amount, and so on.
The club only have to allow permission for him to speak to another club, they can't be forced to sell if higher bids come in (as long as actual bids are lodged).
CAS have withheld similar cases over the years.

 

January window has 31 days and the club needed the money quickly to reinvest, hence quick turn around.

We have a full summer, we don't have to sell quick right now, so we can wait on bids, and as soon as one bid is made others will have to quickly make there bids.

I think he will eventually go for around £6m

I thought all intrested clubs would bid the same (only to meet the fee), then 'outbid' each other in terms of the package offered to the player.

 

This isn't true. If the clause is met, he can speak to the club that met it. If the clause is £3m, then anybody bidding that is allowed to speak to him. We are powerless to reject it. A team could bid £5m and it would be accepted, it doesn't mean Grosicki would have to go to that club. The clause is what it is, a fixed amount that if triggered, allows the club to offer the player a contract. It's legally binding, we can't do much about it.

 

This is how I see it - why would a club bid more than a release clause?

The 'bidding' is with the offer to the player

 

This page has ****ed with my head. People (person?) actually think a club would knowingly bid more than a release clause?!?
