I take it you never watched any of our games this season where the odd youth team player played? Oh, and those old players we bought with 3 years left, Bailly and Pogba look as if they could play until they are 25 or 26 easily. Tell me about all the league minutes your youth/academy players got this season, I need to learn how a proper manager does it.
Ibrahimovic Pogba you mean that player you sold for £500k and bought for £89m. Nothing cheque book about that. Nobody watches your games cause they're that ****ing boring. Other than Tuanzabe, who has Maureen introduced from the academy? Our bench has been full of Academy players for most of the season, and yes I'd like to see them getting more game time. Frankly they couldn't do worse than some of the first teamers.
i'm not holding my breath. mind you i rarely watch foreign footie so have little idea how good he really is.
yeah well this years £50m is last years £20m. we have to upskill the squad & it is going to cost big time due to the money our direct competitors are willing and able to spend.
Joel Pereira, Scott McTominay, Josh Harrop, Demi Mitchell and Joe Riley. All of them have had 1st team league games this season (some as starters). EDIT Missed Angel Gomez off that list, youngest ever player for United in the league. And he promoted Matty Willock to first team squad at the start of the season Sticking kids on the bench when you have no squad is not quite the same as promoting youth What would you have done with Pogba when he refused to sign a contract? I was against getting him back for the price we paid because I had never seen him control a game, still haven't. That said, he has a good 10 years or more to prove me wrong, if he does that what do you think he would have cost in another 4/5 years with the way the market is going
Who? Never heard of any of them. Already mentioned that I'm not particularly happy with our youth policy in recent years, but that's a fault of previous owners (and current owners to a degree) and previous management for not investing properly in it and for not using it properly. Too many failed youth talents from our youth teams, reaching a certain level and failing to get to 1st team level. Maureen has shown in previous jobs he couldn't give a **** about youth or the long term future of a club. Rashford should have played far more games this season, as should have Marital. As for Pogba, it was about game time rather than a contract. Had he been given more game time, instead of a semi-retired Scholes you wouldn't have had to sell him and then buy back.
We didn't have to sell him, we could have given in to a kids demands to play ahead of senior professionals when he had shown zero reason to do so but we didn't. Maybe you will have to make that kind of choice one day, lets see how it goes
