You're clearly the one who's angry here, considering the evidence includes:
i.) Visiting our board within two minutes of the final whistle on Saturday evening to gloat
ii.) Refusing to admit you used a stupid bloody argument
iii.) Blatantly misquoting me when I debunked your stupid bloody argument
iv.) Holding up "Diego" blatantly misquoting me on the Arsenal board as evidence of...something
v.) Steaming in when I called out "Diego" for blatantly misquoting me on the Arsenal board when it (supposedly) had nothing to do with you
vi.) All manner of ****posting on our board after I pointed out the remarkable similarities between posts by you and "Diego"
vii.) Resorting to smear by calling me "angry" at every opportunity

Do you think that makes you look calm? Because I hate to break it to you, but it makes you look just as bad as that angry little dung beetle banging on about Nigel Mansell because they weren't hugged enough as a child. So, as I said before, cut the crap.

What's going to be remembered about our team in five years? Well let me think...
The final season at White Hart Lane
Winning the final North London Derby at White Hart Lane
Winning our last-ever match at White Hart Lane
Being unbeaten at home all season
    The emergence of Harry Winks
Harry Kane winning back-to-back Golden Boots
Son breaking a long-standing record for most goals in a league season by a South Korean player
Kane, Alli and Son all scoring 20+ goals in a season, a historical feat not just for Spurs but in Premier League history
Some of the matches will certainly go down in the annals (the 2-0s over Chelsea and Man City being obvious ones)

That's a short list off the top of my head, and you've got no chance if you try to hand-wave it away since the majority of that list will always be in the history books. Oops!

12 years ago (May 2005) we had just had our joint highest league finish of 8th place. We had qualified ONCE for European football in the previous 14 years.
    Since then we finished 5th, 5th, 10th but won a cup, 8th, 4th, 5th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 5th, 3rd and 2nd.
Prior to this we were normally 16th-10th.
This has shown us improving enormously with ELEVEN seasons of European football in twelve years.
This in my opinion means that we can take a massive amount of joy from seeing our team unbeaten in the last season at WHL.
We can enjoy the great football we have seen since December.
We can enjoy being the prems top scorers and having ghe best defence.
Thats because we are seeing yet more improvement.
Arsenal fans (again just imo) were doing this back between 1996 and 2006 but since then have (at best) stagnated or (at worse) gone backwards. Their manager made top 4 the be all and end all of a season so when clubs won trophies and didn't come in the top 4 they would dismiss it. This was really shown last season with united. Yet this season they find them in that position and are now trying to square that circle.
This is obviously a generalisation and not aimed at anyone in particular.
If spurs win the fa cup next season and Arsenal come second in the league but won nothing there is no way we would not be mocked. Arsenal and Wenger have helped create a culture of CL qualification is everything and now do not know what to do or say imo.
Him saying "coming above spurs is in our DNA " last season was a symptom of this and this season has genuinely shocked them.

Arsenals FA Cup 2017/18 – An (un)biased account

Round 3 Preston NE (The true invincibles) Away – Won 2-1 In a surprisingly even match where most people thought the home side were worth at least a draw

Round 4 Southampton Away – Southampton decided to field there reserves and an easy 5-0 was recorded.

Round 5 Non League Sutton Away – Comfortable 2-0 against a plucky non league side but premier league quality won the day.

Round 6 Non League (again!) Lincoln at home 5-0– see above

Semi Final Man City at Wembley – won 2-1 A close encounter won in extra time but who knows what would have happened if the goal incorrectly disallowed for City in the first half had been given. (goals change matches!)

Final Chelsea at Wembley won 2-1 goons win deservedly but again dubious refereeing helps them on their way as Sanchez goal is allowed despite definite offside and probable handball.

Cup win suddenly hugely significant for Goons who due to their complete obsession with Spurs now claim that a cup win is more important than a top 4 finish (next part stolen form Spurf on another thread -sorry), but did those same goons think Pompey had a better season than them in 2008 or Wigan in 2013, though Wigan were relegated – then again in a way so were the goons – relegated from the top 4!

Just gone through a couple of pages of this thread and removed a bunch of comments.
They were either abusive/insulting or quoting comments that were one or the other.
    Cut this crap out, please.

So five years from now :

    1. not one person on planet Earth will remember Spurs 2016-17 season
    2. nothing will be "written down somewhere" about Spurs in 2016-17

Do you want to wager some money on these claims ... ??

Spuds FA Cup 2017/18 lost in semi final against Chelsea and haven't stopped beeling yet, made worse by Arsenal winning the Cup.
Spuds PL 2015/16 came third in a two horse race and haven't stopped being bitter yet.
Spuds PL 2016/2017 bottled their chance at West Ham and are still wailing and gnashing their teeth at the injustice in the world

I said it before and I'll say it again: Goons are so desperate to cling to any crumb of comfort that they're bending themselves into quite impossible shapes to try and find something to hold over us, and it's definitely not making them look petty, small-minded, deluded, insecure, or filled with existentialist rage.

Failing to qualify for the Champions League, finishing behind your "local rivals", seeing a campaign against your manager spread from the stands across social media to the point there are "WENGER OUT" signs seen at sporting events on the other side of the Atlantic, the club being reduced to a laughing stock by a Youtube channel, their star player entering the final year of their contract and showing no sign of extending his deal, their other quote-unquote star player putting in a shocking lack of effort on the pitch, and their summer signings being an utter washout.

If they honestly think that winning the FA Cup even comes close to plastering over those cracks, let alone giving them reason to gloat about anything this season or even act as if they can dismiss what other teams had achieved this season, their perception is fubbernucked.

Spurs bottled what at west ham?
Finishing 4 points behind Chelsea instead of 7th?
We won 12 out of our last 13 matches and you call us bottlers?
I will say it again...this aint the premier league board so please stick to sensible comments or simply stop.
This kind of nonsense "discussion" has killed several team boards which used to be lively ... just take it to the general board where everyone goes there knowing it's a wum paradisd devoid of rational debate.
Oh and please stop calling us spuds on here ... it's as childish as it is rude and is just designed to irritate.
I honestly do not get the wumming on here when there is (as I have said) the wild west of the premier league board.

A Gooner mate of mine is already pinning their hopes on Chelsea and Liverpool being unable to juggle domestic and European football next season, which they sidestepped this season.

While they may have a point about Liverpool, as they have an established pattern of failing to balance the two, they're obviously failing to take into account how the Europa League can be a joyless slog through the muck and the mire that can drag down a team's league form with it.

With the implication being that he does not think Spurs will
have trouble balancing CL participation with securing another
season in the CL via a PL top 4 slot ?? :)

What's the point? Neither can be proven and both are easy to 'forceabley' make happen in order to win a bet.

But I don't think they're preposterous things to say, no.

Why WOULD any neutral remember the 2016/17 spurs season in five years exactly???

And what is going to be written down about spurs 16/17 exactly?

Spurs fans should rightly remember it for a while. But get over yourselves if you think neutrals will. Most neutrals won't remember we won the FA cup either, lets be honest.

I wouldn't be able to tell you who won the 2012 title, fa cup, carling cup or champions league without looking it up. Yet you think Joe Bloggs in 2022 will remember that spurs played some great football fans be years previously? Why would they??

You think it's stupid to think that neutrals won't remember spurs 16/17 season in five years? Fair enough. If you think they will then good for you. Now everyone's happy.
