I'm not sure how coke is going to help you. Maybe to pretend you've won the lottery?

I'd spend an awful lot of time on a Greek island, maybe Kefalonia. I wouldn't live there though. It's cold in winter.

I can't remember where Mike Oldfield lives, but there seemed nice.

    Hull's good enough for me.

Like Corfu, but that gets cold in winter. And lot of rain in winter which seems to surprise some Brits who move there and have never wondered why it is so green. Bumped into someone who came home from Spain, Javea, last year after being there for 20 years running a business. Fantastic place and great lifestyle if you adapt to the Spanish ways, late meals, sitting out until very late drinking wine and not beer, but as he has got older he is less able to stand the summer heat. Still trying to adapt to life back here where it is dead after about 11pm with quiet streets with no one wandering about. Hard to find the ideal place. Maybe Bermuda, no poisonous insects or animals, rarely below 70f or above 80f. Unfortunately deadly dull and horrendously expensive.

The organisation which arranged this is worth contributing to. http://raysofsunshine.org.uk/

There are others who do similar. I've told my kids if ever I win the lottery my money will be split between those organisations, the RNLI which puts their lives at risk for others, including daft sods from cities who ignore all warnings and have to be rescued by people giving their time for free, and the Dogs Trust as my dog doesn't only bother with me when he is after something. And is better company.

Bermuda deadly dull!! Our kid went there for three months years ago as a mate moved there for work. He loved it, scuba diving, boat fishing, jet skis and stunning women and the strongest rum he ever supped.
He was a wreck when he came back <laugh>

I know someone who worked there for two years, got the opportunity of staying on, house provided, maid, the lot but came back as after a year he found the routine there stultifying. Different strokes for different folks I suppose...

Who am I judging? I've named nobody specific. I stand by everything I've said.

Who said anything about 'them all'? I'm referring to a very specific type of person. Most people who leave Hull to live 10 miles away would admit why - it's because they don't love Hull and would prefer to live somewhere else. It's the hypocrisy I have issues with.

I haven't had a go at Hull at all. I said people from Hull moan about anything.

Not sure what's so funny about asking why people who claim to love somewhere cannot bring themselves to live there and instead choose to live just a few miles away in more salubrious surroundings. So do they love it or not? Seems perfectly reasonable to ask why to me.

None of what I said applies to you - you realised that you liked Hull so you moved there. It's the complete opposite of what I'm questioning.
