Andy Carroll will live to regret this decision. I thought he understood the heritage and tradition that came with being a Newcastle number 9. From now until the end of his career he has to live with walking into a dressing room and seeing his name on a red shirt with 37 on it, rather than a black and white one with the evocative number 9. If we're successful without him, he'll have to live with the fact that he's missing out on something special. If we fail, he'll have to live with the guilt that he could have prevented it. At Newcastle he was loved, but at Liverpool he's expendable. And Carroll will be reminded of his mistake every Saturday at 10:30, when he gets home from the game to see Match of the Day... ...only to discover that burglars have took his TV while the greedy **** was out benchwarming. On another note, I don't think anyone should be signed in the next five hours. That money will be worth a lot more in the summer than it is now. We have points on the board and we've coped brilliantly in his absence recently, the last three league performances were among our best of the season IMO. We have four strikers left at the club, and while they're not in Carroll's class they can all do a job, three of them have been among the goals and many of us have been crying out for Ranger to be given more games. The club is bigger, much bigger, than any one individual. Howay the lads.
I agree to a degree. 1. Ben Arfa wheres no. 37, that is now a special number. 2. We should try to nab a striker in the next 5 hours. 3. He'll regret the negative equity on his house. What a dumbass.
thing is will pardew get the full amount plus what ever the transfer kitty would have been in the summer if so fair does but i agree we shouldn't panic buy
Since it is Carroll's fault and not Ashley's I'm not angry, more just disappointed. If we get the 35 M to reinvest then I'd like a class right winger and someone like van Wolfswinkel up front. Finally I believe we must persevere with Ranger. Forget Europe. We are nearly safe so play him up front with one of the other 4, he is the only striker we have who can become anywhere near what Carroll can be. Some even said he could be better if his apparent nerves in front of goal are cured.
What the **** is Rio Ferdinand on about? Man U paid ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã30m for the twat so he's hardly one to go around suggesting others are overpriced.
why should we care anymore what Rio thinks, Carroll isnt our player anymore, forget the scum and get on with our season, we have big enough profiles in the dressing room to keep everyone together, Nolan and Barton are now the most important players to us, as long as we have them I am confident we will pick ourselves up, dust off the dirt left behind by Carroll and do well, this is our incentive to really give it a go now!!
We should try and nab someone on loan till the end of the season. 'Cause it'll just take injuries to Lovenkrands and Best...
Totally agree its now all about trying to be optimistic and to be fair ranger could be very good with nurturing from AP which will mean he will become better now he can get more time. Carroll is a good player but he definitely isnt worth ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã35m at the moment his heading is his best attribute with everything else standard, so a lot rides on nurturing that talent and hoping he doesnt get injured badly
We need to use the players we've got correctly. Use Lovenkrands and Best up front. They're great together. Lovenkrands creates so many goals it's perfect for us.
wouldn't say i'm pleased with this deal, however, 35 mill is a hell of alot of money guys and i've been pretty optimistic about our recent form. we should stay up without carrol and we'll have a lot of money to spend (hopefully) in the summer. We shud look at nabbing someone on loan mind, just make up the numbers...ngog maybe?
Agree with AG. The guy is making a serious mistake. If he doesn't have a good start, with such a big price on his head, he'll be under HUGE pressure from Pool fans. He's an idiot.
