My Sunderland mate has a smile on his face at last. Moyes has gone and things can only get better. Maybe the anti Puel faction would like to see David Moyes take over, and turn us into Everton old boys.
Probably won't be popular with some, but Rodgers would fit our profile. Done really well with Celtic this season. Won't happen of course.
We could promote from within and become an (Eric) Blackboard. Or appoint Jurgen Klinsman and become a Diving Board
Read his articles and notice how often you see what are clearly rephrased versions of direct statements made to him by people at our club. "People at the club say/the board believes", etc. There's nothing wrong with that...every team has a journalist or journalists who they can rely on to get their version of events out there, and access-for-accuracy is the oldest game in the book in media. The result is that, when Wilson writes something about Saints that speaks to inside information, it's not a leak or a repeated whisper...it came about because someone at the club wanted him to write it, generally as a means to communicate with fans when they cannot do so directly. His articles about Koeman during the Everton approach speak to that, replete with statements that were clearly derived from someone highly-placed within the club, and all sympathetic to their perspective. He was also the first to report that Caceres had already made an appearance at Staplewood, because the club wanted it out there that we had a CB lined up after the January debacle, but couldn't state it outright given that no contract had been signed. And if Puel has indeed talked with St Etienne, that's the confirmation. That doesn't happen without us giving our blessing, presumably because it would allow for an out where Puel departs without us having to pay him off/without him suffering the ignominy of the sack.
To be honest, I wasn't sure if Fran was talking about FLT or me. Then I remembered his son's drubbing in the cup final
