Why would he confirm it? Why is what he did or didn't do prior to the end of the season relevant to your point which was "he touted himself for every ****ing job going straight after the end of the season" The FACT is Newcastle's last game was on May 15th, he'd committed, publically, by the 24th. You're clouded by your dislike of him.
Even taking that into account, how is it any different to what Silva did? He waited, by your own admission, 10 days after the end of the season, not taking into account the extra time after they were relegated. If he was so loyal then what was he waiting for? He could've committed in the press conference more than a full 2 weeks earlier the day when they actually went down. And as for me disliking him, simply not true. I've said on here that, along with Pulis, he's the biggest surprise I've had in meeting football people as both were charm personified when I thought they'd be ****s.
Who said it was different to what Silva did, apart from the end result obviously? I think 10 days is a fair time to consider his future & doesn't equate to your changing explanation. What makes you think you deserve an immediate announcement?
Silva was never likely to stay long anyway, he's a mercenary, just look at his past. He was a short term fix to a short term crisis, and he wasn't good enough. Not only that, after bottling it as soon as the pressure started building, he just saw us take an embarrassing biggest ever home loss in the league. Time to look ahead, get someone in who fits our footballing philosophy for the long term and build a solid side capable of staying in the premier league for eternity. Gary Monk or Tim Sherwood for me.
No we don't want Huth and Morgan next season and we won't. We will be signing two centre halves and I "think/hope" they will be one of Gibson/Maguire and Acerbi/Mbodji (Sassuolo/Anderlecht) who we bid several times for and they both want to come so I reckon it'll be one of them. Acerbi is a ball player and Mbodji is a beast but pacey. I just did a check of Gibson and Maguires stats and HM wins convincingly overall.
The problem with staying in the PL is it costs money to find the player who will score enough goals and Hull didnt address that when you got promoted, like Boro. Good luck on your return anyway
The original post that I replied to. Who said anything about me deserving anything? The discussion was about one doing a runner and the other being honourable.
But why make up **** & then change your goalposts to make your point. FACT - Newcastle were relegated when Sunderland beat Everton on May 11th. FACT - Newcastle didn't play after this until their final game on the 15th. FACT - By the 24th it was public that he was committed to Newcastle. FACT - It was reported on the 13th that he had no interest in having an interview for the Southampton job. The FACTS don't add up to your version of events, probably why you change the goal posts.
There's a new series starting on Channel Four in a couple of weeks which might interest you. Called ' Me and my Gilet' it explores modern metrosexual man's relationship with the sleeveless jacket. From dress down structured tailoring via experimenting with texture to the pragmatism of regulating your temperature, it promises to include something for everyone. Yer Man is booked to appear in Episodes 2, 4, 7 and 23. Enjoy!
Interestingly, reading the Watford board which has had posts for the first time on about 4 months, MS is not taking up his position until July 1st. Is that because we are taking his 6 month contract literally and making him sit it out...?
Maybe he wants a holiday. No signings can be done before then, can they? Either way, he can give his wish list to their people & they can get it sorted for when he gets there. Good luck to him, we'll get to see just how good he is now. I was convinced they'd be relegated next year, but not now.
I haven't changed any goalposts. FACT. I actually don't know what goalposts you're accusing me of shifting, I haven't budged one iota on what I said. FACT. He took ages to commit after touting himself for jobs all around Europe. FACT. There is no difference between what he and Silva did. FACT. Therefore the whole original point that I replied to remains - one did not do a runner while the other was honourable. FACT.
