Meyler's injured, assuming Clucas will go. How could I forget Dio and Weir? Much, much weaker than this time last season
I spent decades thinking this is our year, forever the optimist. Now, in the period of or greatest success, I am pessimistic about the coming season. Funny old game.
I wish I could agree with you, I really do. Unless something totally unexpected happens in the summer I can't see it happening.
I think this could be be great for us. Had we stayed up we would have had to spend some serious cash, and doubt we would have, plus replace Mcquire and Robbo. I think the clowns realise we need stability, a decent manager with a long term vision, funding at some reasonable level. Losing money will hurt them, they know that to get their asking price they need promotion and assets. I expect a young hungry manager, funds from players sales been made available
I think it will be much harder than last time. No idea what players we even have at this point. And there will be more clubs willing to spend heavily to compete at the top than last time. Last time we should have been competing with the top 2, this time I'm not so sure.
Usually when things seem bleak it never turns out that way. I'm going with that anyway. I'm too old to be pessimistic. All we need is a manager and 10 new players...,piece of piss
Not here to wum, apologies for last time when we played but just trying to be decent now and have a chat, no piss taking. Just want your genuine opinions on Silva? We heard good things but you still went down, was it just the usual up turn in form post change in manager as we saw with Swansea, Palace and Villa the season we escaped a couple back? Or was it simply that he did all he could with what he had? Also what's Maguire like?
will be very disappointed in Silva if he choses Watford - surely that cant be the height of his ambition, **** club, **** fans, **** team - says it all when you shorten their name - Wat For - Wat the hell For Marco - Wat the hell For
You'll have different opinions from posters here. I think Silva was great for the club and brought a distraction to what is still happening here. On the field, even though he brought in personnel to add to a depleted squad in January, a combo of more injuries didn't help our cause. Of course the damage was done against Sunderland but in truth long before then and we simply ran out of petrol. The players all eulogised about his coaching brilliance. As for Maguire, he's excellent played centrally, good on the ball, his confidence has raised immeasurably under Silva. IMO he's gone from a £8/10 million player to close to double that in 4 months.
He's ****ed up big time... Porto wouldn't play ball with him, Southampton didn't even bother to interview him, seemingly Palace made no approach. WATFORD , that looks glorious on his CV.
Yeah no disrespect at all meant but you kind of do lack a bit of quality so it was always going to be hard for you to stay up. Personally I really want Shakey, I think he's perfect for the job but people seem to think we need a recognised manager and Silva is many peoples favourite. We need a manager who will stick to this style of play otherwise it's Ranieri all over again and inevitable struggles. Do you think he would be good for us? And Maguire?
